WOW! Holly Hunter is AWESOME! I never knew she was such a great tap dancer! I just LOVE her costume and red high heel tap shoes!

I was watching the program, and the song came on..... I had to Google it to see if it was real because the song just moved me big time..... I found out there were different singers that had song this song..... I listen to it all the time, thanks to the show....... If you can listen to George Michaels version...... ❤😊

I guess this is why they ended up giving the lottery winning to the homeless shelter.

The singer of this song is actually Roslyn Kind, sister of Barbra Streisand. Cynthia Fee sung the opening theme song, not this.

I know this episode has gotten a lot of flak over the years and I do get the criticism but I think it being hard to watch is kind of the point. Its more effective than the Christmas episode which also tackles homelessness but does so in a more heavy-handed and preachy way almost resembling a PSA (and the original airing did have them doing a Thousand Points of Light service announcement with President Bush tagged onto the end) - the fact that they've spent the whole episode running around after this jacket with a winning lottery ticket in it and lamenting what they don't have only to be confronted with the reality of homelessness and realizing they've been acting selfish is just a complete gut punch

Epic moviemaking from the moment that her plane hits the lake's surface and sinks to the bottom to the very end of the movie. John Williams' music provides the key vehicle for that emotional sequence. (I was expecting a shooting star across the night sky as Richard Dreyfus smiles to the camera, turns and walks away.)

I've been homeless before, but I never had to stay at a shelter and I count myself incredibly lucky and grateful for that. I went through some bad stuff, but my experiences are nothing compared to those in this world that have nothing at all to call their own, the ones who go face constant turmoil every day... the people you never seem to hear or see. Now that I'm in a comfortable position in my life, I regret that I can't do much to help out others. I feel like I'm almost dishonoring my life experiences by not acknowledging the ones still going through them. I'm sorry.

If u live in a place with shelters you can volunteer to cook there. If u don't have the time you can give canned food to a pantry every little bit helps

when I hear the Barbara streisand song of brother can you spare a dime I first recall hearing it from my 5th grade play. Also in which this girl I first knew from the 1st grade was dancing to it and mouthing the words to it.

Cynthia Fee sang the Golden Girls theme song. Is this the same Cynthia? (Too much of a coincidence for it not to be the same person.) Assuming that it is her, she is a lovely and versatile singer, who can beautifully float a note.
