Very informative video, I was doing the same to my 3.0 lr4 when I tore the snout down I noticed the spring from the coupler was digging into the shaft and left some marks, I'm replacing the bearings as well, do you think it's necessary to replace the shaft or just do the coupler ?

Wire the sub like you would wire it any other time and since the sub is inverted you need to turn the phase 180 degrees out on your amp "you don't need to invert the polarity"

You were supposed to flip the gasket over to the opposite side so the flat side is still touching the box like it was when it was in the box with the magnet down. It likely isn't sealing up well, and that will definitely affect your SQ.

It doesn’t sound as good because by removing the speaker you increase the cubic volume inside the box which changes the Hrz so it might have went from 35 hrz to 45hrz.

The funny part is, the escape in that video doesn't have a traditional wiper transmission it has independent motors that you can move then as soon as you turn the key on they reset to their normal position so that's literally the easiest car to put the wipers arms on correctly. Also it's not hard if you can use your brain just a little bit

Aftermarket windshields have alignment marks too .from 2017 to present have to turn the key on to lock the wiper motor in place then put the arms on

Ive only done one and didnt know they didnt take kindly to being took off just took me 3 attempts to line it up by trial and error oh no its slapping the teim lets move it down a few teeth oh no its interfering with the other blade lets move it up half the teeth i moved it down .. perfect-ish

Yeah it appears that you flipped the sub (inverted) but also doubled your resistance. Rewire it back to how it was BUT keep it inverted because that box is definitely way too small.

You basically halved your power by rewiring it. Not sure why anyone would say to do that but I’d take it back down to 2 ohms or 1 ohm, whatever your sub wires down to.

Hard lesson not learned. You do not reverse polarity of the speaker wires when you invert a single sub. You only do it when you have multiple subs and some are inverted while the others are not.

More space in the box. If it's a sealed enclosure, it'll lower the tuning slightly, improving extension. The motor is also in free air now, which improves the cooling of the voice coil. My favorite way to mount subs!
