My team was hired on by one of the sponsors of one of the main stages, so we were allowed to shoot everything but the DJs

Sorry for the late reply! Yes, I shoot for work and as my outlet. These days I shoot my video with a 5D R5C, and photos with a Fuji xpro 3

If all of these idiots would only realize the struggles that the Havasupai nation has to endure, they might be more sensitive to the area and the wonderful people that have called it home for hundreds of years. Instead they treat it like some weird extension of a Las Vegas experience, boozing it up, walking around half naked like they own the place.sickening

Marc, we paid for permits, didn't bring alcohol ( its a 10 mile hike in ) took care of our trash, left nothing behind, and enjoyed our time hiking, cliff jumping and creating memories. We respect and love this place and go back every year. I'm sure if you joined our adventure group you would change your mind!

Among those of us who have been lucky enough to spend time in magical places for decades, I think there is often frustration with the behavior of contemporary young people in wilderness areas, particularly when the 'burning man' type crowd comes into a spectacular and tranquil place to party and subsequently publishes social media content that brings hoards of others who do the same. This is happening to wild places all over the world at an astonishing rate. Please do not turn magical places into your party bus, but instead maybe use some suburban hilltop with an amazing view or a beach that is already commercialized. Maybe the old axiom about taking only photos and leaving only footprints needs to be updated to reflect the massive impact that social media content is having on spectacular places. As for the Havasupai, they charge quite a bit for the permits, mules, and services and there are probably many (non-casino) tribes in more dire straights. I hope they can continue to manage their amazing resources in some way that limits how commercialized it can get.
