Here is some sample footage I shot at Lollapalooza this year with the Canon R5C. I wanted to share all the settings I used including all the lenses that were used.
For this shoot I used different combinations of these settings and lenses which you will find labeled in the video.
These shots are mainly run and gun all natural light.
I shot most of the footage using REC.709 at the oversampled 4k full frame format. I did not shoot raw (this time) and stayed with the 4k format and I was impressed with both the quality of the video, and with how well my computer (macbook air M1) was able to handle the footage. The great thing about the Canon R5C is that it is capable of shooting 8k, but when shooting in 4k mode oversamples from the entire sensor WITHOUT lens crop. This gives the 4k video sharper footage and better lowlight iso.
I tried out a variety of lenses and mainly worked with the internal IS and autofocus turned off.
This camera is an RF model, so I had to use a variety of adapters in order to work with EF as well as AF lenses.
Here are a list of settings and gear (with links) that I used for this shoot. Feel free to ask me any questions in the comments.
