Well, Lucifer is a fictional character taken from a Christian Myth, in the case of Christianity from a bad translation of the Hebrew about the King of Babylon, again; part of the course of Christianity, but the fictional character of Lucifer is really no worse than Loki in Disney's Marvel series, just not as well written

10ish Podcast, did you really need to use the terminology at 2:46, as well as 3 or 4 times more during the video? I won't return. You could increase your viewership much more quickly by curbing the color of your speech. Many people don't care, but a lot more than you apparently realize do care. Your call. When I was on vacation to AK from here in IL back in '84, I took a tour to the Arctic--Nome and Kotzebue. The night I was in the latter, I got to see the midnight sun on the back deck of the hotel I was in--not the Aurora Borealis, but still quite amazing. This is free: Ulaanbaatar = oo-lahn-BAAT-er, which separates Russia from China. Same for the next entry--Utqiaġvik = oot-key-AH-vick/known as Barrow until 10/4/16. Harbin, China got the em-PHA-sis on the wrong syl-LA-ble (😀), in that it's har-BIN. At 7:01 is a shot of their annual ice sculpture festival. Nunavut = NEW-nuh-voot [as in ‘boot’]. Putting houses on stilts, as they do in Yakutsk, is also done in arctic AK, and probably anywhere in the Arctic. I've had these other pronunciations on my computer for at least 5 years, since I started collecting them from all over the US and Canada, after watching a video here of people from 1 state trying to pronounce place names in another state, and thought I could add to it. The US part is sitting at 2589, with the Canadian version at 345. However, the final entry I remember from a TV program decades ago about the place. Oymyakon = oim-yah-CONE. No charge.😀

Season 1 was ass too. Cavil’s love for tje character made him stand out as a fairly positive aspect, but the dialogue they forced on him, the costume design (for everyone, not just him), the juvenile constant cursing, the beyond lazy idea to have non-human dryads just be black people while, idiotic changes to character motivations, decisions so bad even the writers quietly tried to retcon them…. It may just be the worst adaptation ever made and I’ve seen a lot of bad. It seems Cavill is giving up on the amazon warhammer series because he sees the same writing on the wall and good is that. Much rather have no series than a lorebreaking mess that only hurts the title

@Geejay4122 ай бұрын
@@feartheghus how on earth did you get 'woke' from season 2+ of the witcher? Witcher is already a fairly progressive series with the Lodge, the main character's story flowing around powerful women for a majority of his arcs (Triss, Yennefer and Ciri to name a few). And lest we forget that S2 of the show changed Yennefer's character so much that she isn't a character with an interest in raising ciri as a daughter due to the loss of her own ability to bear children. to being, "Oh sure i guess i can kill a kid" up until the last moment

The show would of been much better if they used the games as a source because hear me out, it was the third installment in the franchise that catapulted it into the maistream, it was said writing and characters that people fell inlove with, if Netflix had collaborated with cd project red we have of had a different animal all together 🤷♂️
@Herr_Gamer2 ай бұрын
The books were incredibly popular in europe, particularly the eastern parts, before the games ever came to be. Basing the show on the game would also require a lot of unfiltered exposition as much of what is seen hinges on book knowledge or reading the ingame character descriptions (which are from the books). Adapting the games would also mean leaving out most if not all sidequests save for those with main characters, which takes a lot out of the idea behind continuing Geralt’s story. Adapting the books was the right call, but giving it to those talentless hacks was a mistake
@JohnSmith-sv4om2 ай бұрын

So this may be an unpopular opinion but i didnt like season one aside from a few parts, it was to all over the place, season two they found their stride but butchered the source material therefore the season was good and bad at the same time and i didnt watch season three because at that point they lost me and most of the audience.

I love the books and the games, Season 1 sucked. They threw so much important buildup and character out the window in order to create the shitstorm of the second season. Non of the independent Yennifer stuff actually happened in the books
@Herr_Gamer2 ай бұрын
It’s incredibly stupid too. Yennefer in both versions, before meeting Ciri, wants to reverse the infertility caused by being a sorcoress. In the books, this isn’t something we would think is impossible because all we can really do is speculate that maybe magic causes hormonal imbalance. In the show, however, they literally cut out her uterus. How the hell does she think she can somehow reverse that? It’s frustratingly stupid

@nicholasqualters2 ай бұрын
Here from your short about the Witcher show. Your statements while 90% accurate are a bit off. The novels while initially were not super popular they became mainstays in the modernization of Eastern European folklore. The second season is detested by fans because it shows alot of beloved characters taking actions they never would. Such as yennifer sacrificing ciri to be able to use magic which she would never do. Unlike season 1 which mostly stuck to the source material but made a few different creative choices which didn't negatively impact the story. Which is fine when transitioning mediums. As previously stated this was not true of season 2. Calling it the Witcher is a bit of misnomer as it's not geralts story. To the point of the games success causing review bombing. The games are the sequel to the story and act as non conical possible future for geralt and Co. Furthermore to follow up on this the only reason the third was problematic to fans of the series was the root cause of one of the conflicts. That being emehyr trying to be a father to ciri. This was resolved at the end of the book series, with emehyr letting ciri stay with Geralt and yenn. There's alot you can say about emehyr cold calculating utilitarian sure but anything he is not a moron, nor does he go back on his word. This is why fans were so confused as the issue of ciri being emehyrs kid was entirely resolved

Thanks for stopping by! In doing more research since the recording of this episode, I agree that the Netflix series was really based on the books almost completely, and the video game series seems to exist off to the side. I have not watched The Witcher, but I had always planned to given that S1 was so well received. Now, however, I can't see myself watching S1 at all now that the rest of the series is so widely despised.
@gabrielsecaira59712 ай бұрын
The video games actually take place after the books, so less of an adaption and more of a sequel kinda. But yeah the show was an adaption of the books.
