Here from your short about the Witcher show. Your statements while 90% accurate are a bit off. The novels while initially were not super popular they became mainstays in the modernization of Eastern European folklore. The second season is detested by fans because it shows alot of beloved characters taking actions they never would. Such as yennifer sacrificing ciri to be able to use magic which she would never do. Unlike season 1 which mostly stuck to the source material but made a few different creative choices which didn't negatively impact the story. Which is fine when transitioning mediums. As previously stated this was not true of season 2. Calling it the Witcher is a bit of misnomer as it's not geralts story. To the point of the games success causing review bombing. The games are the sequel to the story and act as non conical possible future for geralt and Co. Furthermore to follow up on this the only reason the third was problematic to fans of the series was the root cause of one of the conflicts. That being emehyr trying to be a father to ciri. This was resolved at the end of the book series, with emehyr letting ciri stay with Geralt and yenn. There's alot you can say about emehyr cold calculating utilitarian sure but anything he is not a moron, nor does he go back on his word. This is why fans were so confused as the issue of ciri being emehyrs kid was entirely resolved

Thanks for stopping by! In doing more research since the recording of this episode, I agree that the Netflix series was really based on the books almost completely, and the video game series seems to exist off to the side. I have not watched The Witcher, but I had always planned to given that S1 was so well received. Now, however, I can't see myself watching S1 at all now that the rest of the series is so widely despised.
