After all this time still having trouble to decide which one is my favorite, VII or IX. I mean the others are good too, but not as great. Sadly IX will probably never get a remake, because the sales were low and it's probably the most underrated final fantasy game. It would be so interesting to see, taking the fantasy aspect to whole new level. Kinda would like if they made all the ps1 games.

There are only 3 characters i really like in the ff7 world, Zack, Aerith, and Yuffie. ff9 though, i like em all.

As with many issues in the world, we can definitely blame the west once again for overrating 7. All the resources Square could evenly spread out between the FF entries all went to 7 smh

best music for this ff, and this game is really amongst the best ff ( ff4 5 6 7 8 and 10) they should re do it with a different story, more caracters maybe secret caracter to find like in ff7 more espers and if everyone could use esper that should be great more side quest and less cards game i re re re re re re play it and it s so much better each time ( i usually play a non square game , a non final fantasy but after any rpg i need to go back to a ff, i did bof3 and even it s a great rpg i miss my ff s

Something about that scene makes this song get me every time. Zindane loses himself and continues to fight harder and harder enemies and each fight, at the brink of losing, more of his allies show up to help out and try to convince him that, as the song title says, "you're not alone." As simplistic and charming as the character design is there's some incredibly powerful moments in FF9 and this song's scene might just be my favorite in the entire series.

i think final fantasy 10 and ff12 are good btw whats the deal with fantasy lately? they seem to be running out of ideas, there used to be stronger lore more of a verity of races, worlds where magic is readily available

Why are people like this? I've been around since the beginning and I have found something to like about every single entry in this series, and yet I am the one called 'not a true fan'? I remember when this game was released that a lot of people didn't like it for some reason I don't know why I just remember hearing that when it came out but I loved it.

drinkyourtea Because the design of the character is too childish in comparison to FFVIII. That is why people didn't like it when it came out - no matter the fact that the design was done like this to honor the chacter models pre-FFVII -.-'. A poor justification indeed, because they dind't play a true masterpiece.

drinkyourtea because it didn't have emo looking characters that people were used to from FF7 and FF8. Two FF games in a row with dark-themed and emo characters... then here comes FF9 with an interesting aesthetic and fantasy design akin to older games.

exactly what I was thinking. I had to listen to that song to see. Plus the original version of this is a full orchestra with a trumpet instead of a electric guitar. Nobuo Umatsu is like Mozart, you can exchange out instruments to get fresh remixes of masterpieces

Eerie means strange and frightening, definitely not the right adjective as there's nothing strange with music sounding similar. However, the original version of this piece does not include an electric guitar.it uses a trumpet. And they don't sound that similar

Palo Coiso no... Final Fantasy VII isn't better. It's been my first FF I played and I found FF8, FF6 and FF9 better, and I haven't even finished FF9 yet. Still, I can't disagree on the fact that damn, what a good game FF7 was!
