Thank you for another great video with great advice. Gigi, our goldendoodle, is 3 years old and loves meeting and greeting people on walks, but could care less for their dogs. Gigi tends to not like other dogs except for only a couple of dogs. Gigi acts the same way at the groomers with other dogs. Is there anything we can do as her family to comfort her (convince her she is safe and it’s okay)? Note that Gigi is our only pet and we have had her since she was a puppy. We would greatly appreciate any advice you and your team may have.

Hi! We are getting a new puppy tomorrow. We have two dogs now 4 and 8. Both sleep in our bed but puppy will have two kennels one by our bedside and one attached to his long term area (as we work) is this ok?

Sad people are so critical online. If youre not agreeing with the content offered, seems like you should stop watching, but no need to offer criticisms. If youre not a creator, putting together a video is a huge deal, and these are free, but hardly free to produce. Were all individuals, there's a few schools of dog training techniques, Michele is excellent. If not for you, maybe a simple-"don't think this works for me, but thanks". Happy Holidays one & all (December). Thanks again Michele.

Had my pup for 3 days and she’s absolutely terrified of the crate. Today I had to go in to work and left her in there, have a camera set up and she’s completely barking loud.

We suggest that you get a sitter or friend or family member to be with her until the crate training has taken hold and she's comfortable in the crate. We have updated this video with more advice, which you can check out here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWHVXnhph5iLipY

Trying to get a male staffy puppy from a reputable breeder and this is great information! One thing from my experience so far, It might be difficult for you to find a puppy in the timeframe that you wanted. You might be moving soon or have a trip planned or a wedding coming up etc. OR even more likely, there won't be any litters available soon. So some flexibility/compromise might happen.

It looks pretty warm and sunny where you are, so I understand this advice for temperate climates, but is it universal? It was -20C here this weekend and my Coonhound mix was shivering and limping within a minute after we stepped outside. Went back outside and put her boots and sweater on, and then she raced around playing in the snow for an hour!
@HowToTrainADreamDog5 күн бұрын
In general we don't recommend sweaters or boots for dogs but if your dog seems to prefer them, that's OK.
@Rina-sv5ui2 күн бұрын
It has nothing to do with what you prefer it has to do with our absolute pets safety where we live where we must use salt to melt ice which stings and burns the dog's paws not to mention 20 below zero with the wind chill absolutely necessitates Footwear and even my long coat German Shepherd prefers to wear a windproof / waterproof lightly lined jacket when the elements are horrible . It is not a looks thing @@HowToTrainADreamDog

I’ve been playing games with my 10.5 week old in the crate throughout the day, feeding meals in the crate, playing with toys in the crate, and doing frequent potty breaks day and night, but my puppy starts screaming at night when we close the gate. We try to let her cry it out, but we did go to her to make sure she didn’t have to go potty. She didn’t, but still screams and runs around when we close the gate. I’m worried she’s panicking and that this will make her like the crate less and less. Any advice for some desperate, sleep deprived humans?
@HowToTrainADreamDog5 күн бұрын
If she's crying when the door is closed it means you're moving a little too fast in the training process. You may need to keep her confined in a pen around the crate, with the crate door open. This is temporary while you work on training. Avoid any negative experiences in the crate, especially crying. This video has more tips! kzbin.info/www/bejne/qWHVXnhph5iLipY

Driving with a dog in a crate is EXTREMELY unsafe. A 30 mph crash will send your pup against the hard plastic or metal sides of the crate at 30 mph - like dropping your pup form a two story window!. Harnesses are not much better - see the Center for Pet Safety crash test videos. You have the safety of seatbelts and airbags- they don't. There are great cushioned "clamshell" dog seat systems that really work. (Google "Pupsaver" for instance). My pup loves it and jumps right in as soon as the door opens. A little pricey - about the cost of a vet visit.
@HowToTrainADreamDog5 күн бұрын
There are specific crates which are crash tested that are good options.
