@OldHouseRenovationАй бұрын
I went through four dumpsters. All incurred overweight charges yes that is heavy and it’s a shame to take it down but when you have to do the wiring and plumbing, it’s a trade-off. I am happy that we saved quite a few of the plaster walls and ceilings.

I don't recommend it. I just bought one today and already returned it and purchased a gas ⛽️ powered one instead. The battery lasts 20 minutes per charge and takes 2 hours and 30 minutes to be fully charged.
@OldHouseRenovation3 ай бұрын
I understand. People that like electric lawnmowers usually have a lot of batteries and all the other tools such as the shop vac, blower, weed whip. If I had only one battery,, I would not use it.
@jamesa60803 ай бұрын
I find if you run it at the fastest speed and the grass is pretty tall it will drain a battery in 25 minutes or so but I started to just use the self propelled mode when needed and let momentum do the rest and I get double the use. Although now it dies if I use the self propelled mode at all so now it’s a push mower 😢

The electric lawnmower design is solid. The biggest consideration is the battery life and brand. The Ryobi battery capacity runtime is about two 40 volt batteries for 1/3 acre yard including weed whip and blowing

LED headlight is a waste of battery power. Who mowes their lawn at night?
@OldHouseRenovation5 ай бұрын
Crazy to have it on an electric lawnmower, right?
@celticstephenhill4 ай бұрын
Only if you can't turn it off. But LEDs are so incredibly efficient it likely makes no noticeable difference anyways. Like, your not even getting an extra 2min of mowing power if the lights are off.
@scrambler69-xk3kv5 ай бұрын
Only one problem. The replacement blade you buy a Home Depot that says it is for a 40 volt 20 inch lawnmower is to long and does not fit under the mower. Son and I both bought one for our mowers and neither one of us could make it fit. Worked for a local school district for 35 tears doing grounds maintenance I have changed a blade or two. The damn thing does not fit it is to long. I returned it.
@OldHouseRenovation5 ай бұрын
The older Ryobi electric line Morris used 20 inch and smaller blades. The newer lawnmowers are used 21+ blades. You may not be able to find the 20 inch on the shelf, but if you order it online and have it delivered to your home or store that that works out well at Home Depot. Thanks for sharing.
@Largetalons4 ай бұрын
You bought the wrong blade. I also work for my local school district, so I'm not surprised.

There are usually two different boxes of replacement blades at Home Depot labeled 20" but they aren't the same length. WTH. The employee had no idea either.

The adjustable rate speed by using a hand on electric lawnmower is a great feature. I think there’s a model of Ryobi that has this feature. Maybe I’ll try that in the future. Overall, what do you think of the EVgo?

I disagree, 120 year old knob and tube wiring is a fire hazard. century old cast iron pipes can leach chemicals into the water supply. Call it what you want but we restore houses for another 100 years. Thanks for the comment. 😊
