If you are a fan of nature come back in spring when waterfalls are full for the best exp. Rodopi mountain valley of waterfalls is like 3h slow walk with amazing waterfalls and also some wild animals you may encounter ( bears, wild goats, horses, wolves) One of my favorite routes to just drive is the Pamporovo - Kurdjali route through the Mountain. On this route, you can check Devils Bridge and Perperikon (an ancient Thracian place). And many more hope you have time to revisit :)

You should've just put fuel in a proper gas station - OMV, Shell Lukoil, Petrol, Rompetrol, Eko etc.. Such small random stations usually don't accept cards and the fuel there is of lower quality too. Also you were in the wrong lane, hence the guy was pissed off and wouldn't make you way. And the culture capital of Bulgaria is Plovdiv, not Tarnovo. Plovdiv was the European Capital of Culture in 2019 and that's why it got that title afterwards.

If russian company is among your “proper” suggestions then there is nothing to talk about, but anyway: What’s the difference in fuel quality? And why would I consider that for a rental car. What’s the right lane? Plovdiv was cultural capital for a year unlike veliko tarnovo that’s historical and cultural capital by fact not by title. :)

@ You are right about Lukoil, but he as a point. Most of us tend to avoid these small gas stations, but since it's a rental you shouldn't care. Plovdiv is commonly referred to as the cultural capital and Tarnovo as the historical capital, but at the end of the day neither "title" really exists and there is only one capital. Also don't knock Plovdiv, as it's history is not less impressive than Tarnovo's. Have a nice and safe journey and keep cash on hand outside of big cities.

@ Plovdiv is at it's heart the cultural capital more than Veliko Tarnovo... Veliko Tarnovo is at it's heart a Bulgarian historical capital - these are the facts. There is much more Bulgarian culture happening in Plovdiv than in Veliko Tarnovo.

Hey, a Bulgarian here. Unfortunately, Bulgaria was supplied only with Russian petrol until soon. They parliament forbid import of Russian petrol just a month ago. But gasoline and diesel is still processed only in one refinery here which is unfortunately owned by Lukoil.

The easy plan B would be the 1-km long Magura cave, not far from Belogradchik. Lots of rock and mineral formations along the way inside.

It is already hot and sunny in the last few weeks. Don't know where you live but currently it's 26C in Sofia and most of the trees are already getting green. And people are sunbathing on the beaches at the coastline. Tomorrow it's 28C in Plovdiv. It's obvious that the vlogs were filmed earlier - he even said it. This video was filmed almost a month ago - 5th of March. They should've just waited a couple of weeks more.

It`s fairly inappropriate comment, because it`s not "just a compliment" (even it also kind of is...) But your girlfriend is ~charming. Not in the first few ~frames (minutes, whatever), but after the shades, in all the next shots ~... nice. Now that I am done with that (for which I partially excused myself by announcing it is an inappropriate comment that I should have kept for myself) let me go directly to what I actually cared about in this video (but she is ~charming)... So... your waiter suspiciously looks like a guy I used to be in one and the same University in the Capitol with... The difference being he finished at least 4th year for his Bachelor`s degree and I failed in year 3... Long story short at least my collogues invited me to their absolvent ball (idk if there is such term in other languages, but it`s basically prom but for Uni instead of High School) I distinctly remember that guy from than, since he were arranging my payments for the endeavor. I at certain point paid him at least 100 euros cash for ~something... but he said I have to so I did :P. Than in the 2nd place after the first "gala dinner" (it actually were so no "" needed) we were at a very fancy place and this very explicitly dressed girl appeared at certain point... I am only sharing this because is what I remember and it actually holds 0 relevance... Like this one time in previous club in 3rd year, when I went to a party in a stare where I swear I saw a female that was standing there as pure silhouette of darkness and had a tail... It`s like it were the female Satan was attending or something... anyways I took interest into that for a brief moment and went forward to where our Spanish Teacher was amongst us and she were telling some story about how she taught Serbian to herself by herself, but than again I mistakenly visited another group`s class... or she were the wrong one and I didn`t visit our old Spanish very glorified guy old person ~something... Anyways you get it why I didn`t make it past year 3rd... But than... Also I have seen a guy really resembling that guy (your waiter) in a porn, yes I do watch a lot of that... In a state of many tattoos and with a very, very long male organ... Also one time I might have seen that tattooed person across the sidewalk, but it`s hardly one and the same person, now that I saw the Waiter Guy... or of course neither of them could be him... Is like yesterday I saw one of the girls from that group in a SUV, but she looked much younger than she should have been (a.k.a. my age) ~weird stuffs... could have been yet another case of me seeing, talking and writing... stuffs like that. BTW I am native Bulgarian and I don`t think I'd like your trip... Even if your camera work is great, quality is great (of the camera) and than my first inappropriate comment also stays true... But the places you have visited and are about to visit (or upload the clips of you having had visited them...) I've never visited them myself and I don`t think I intend to... I partially understand why are you doing this and me not, but still... Both IRL and on Video those contributes to me nothing but time spent and for reasons I don`t have it in abundances (also money... because let me repeat the timeless slogan of modern day reality Time = Money and Money = Time... outside of lethal diseases and conditions, but even than money still probably equal more time than not (like no money a.k.a. poverty). Bye. Might ever write you again, might not and certainly will not watch a certain video of you outside of Bulgaria.

I see you have Baltic origin. Did you like Bulgaria? Yes, Sofia imo does not represent Bulgaria. I think foreigners enjoy BG more in summer, but we also have ski resorts. We look tough and do not smile, but then it becomes easy to gain people´s hearts. It just takes time. I visited Vilnius and Kaunas in 2019 with my friend and strangely felt like home. And also visted the outskirts of Vilnius. It was October and so beautiful. Thanks for speaking Bulgarian.

Bulgaria is absolutely fantastic. Off season makes it more challanging the take it easy, but we are ready to think outside of the box. Indeed, we are from Baltic country (lithuania) and we totally share that toughness. It’s sad, but it’s changing. I hope in Bulgaria too. Nevertheless, we also met very kind and warm people. I’m very glad to hear you enjoyed Lithuania. Hope you have an opportunity to explore other Baltic countries too. Even though, I think they are kind of the same haha

@ Yes, I did all the Baltics but Lithuania is my favourite. People in Latvia were a bit "cold". Estonia is also cool but I think the 3 countries are different. I talk about personal experience of course. Usually Baltic people visit the Burgas region in the Black Sea summer. There is also an Estonian bank in Bulgaria called Bigbank and strangely we have Hesburger which is Finnish and more common in the Baltics and not present in the neighbouring countries. Finally, Bulgarian and Lithuanian flags are almost the same with the exception of the yellow colour :) I found that funny. Are you a Russian speaker as well or you speak Lithuanian at home?

Saw a dude the other day who was camping and using a foldable foam mat and a animal hide on top of it. Really thick "hallow" fur he said. Might be something to look into! Safe travels buddy

Also in terms of the content, maybe a bit less talking and more footage of the landscape/landmarks you pass with their natural sounds. Throwing in POV clips while you are riding too can also really help in these bikepacking videos. Music is good for those parts.

For the summer trips just the foam mat should be just fine. I took the air mattress for more comfort and relatively compact size, but two seasons in the row they broke near the air valve.. lesson learned - switching to the foam mat 😄
