Hello! Your Tiki Bar is so beautiful🍹🌺. I have seen many Tiki Bars here on KZbin and I loved yours even more. Because there is balance in the decoration. I have noticed that in some they put too many Tiki statues and it looks very overloaded.It's overwhelming😨😵💫 .Of course, everyone is free to do it as they wish, it depends on their tastes. But in my opinion it is not necessary to overload with Tiki statues because it gives the appearance of a Sanctuary instead of a beach Tiki Bar. I think your Bar is perfect in a very fresh and tropical balance. Your Tiki Bar looks so genuinely Hawaiian. I see your bar and it's not hard for me to imagine that there's a beautifull beach behind it🏝️🍹🌴

I have the 9.2 gallon BiOrb Tube. I started with a 4 gallon round Classic but that is too small for my Betta. I really don’t like the ceramic medium so I followed instructions to Pimp the Filter (as he says). Basically, cut aquarium filter rings that go around the filter. With this, I can use Carib Sea gravel and can get 4 Cory catfish (all either male ir female!) and use real plants. I’m almost set to transfer Rocky my betta into his big, new digs! Water tests are great, new heater is keeping 79-80f. Will keep the 4 gallon as an infirmary. Thanks for showing the cleaning procedure. I have read and heard that the sponge can be rinsed and re-used a few times. Cheers!

Thank you so much for sharing Debbie! I love your biorb videos! My 30 liter classic biorb has been set up and heavily planted for a week now. I did do the upgrade that @pondguru recommended and I'm going to slowly start adding fish in a week or two to get the cycle started and I can't wait. My concern however, is that all of your plants died. Why do you think that is? Is the LED light that comes with the tank not strong enough do you think? Is the ceramic substrate to blame I wonder? I have mostly anubias plants, some Java fern, a couple African water fern, a vallisneria, a water sprite planted, and a lily bulb. They are all listed as ok for low light and all seems well for now but I definitely don't want to have your experience with your plants. What info or advice can you give? Thanks again and keep up the good work!
@debbiestropicalplantsandfi5901 Жыл бұрын
Hi thank you and good luck with your biorb. It must be getting exciting for you when you can get the fish in. I couldn't wait but patience and getting the water qualality right is important. Re the plants. It was the lightinmg,that did it. Even though you can have them on for as long as you want each day, they are really just lights to make the tank look good. I think its to do with the spectrum and although they make special bulbs for plants in aquariums, but not for the biorb as far as I know. So I have to say don't try real plants, I think they will perish. Sorry and good luck with your biorb.

Ok, great, good to know! Thank you for replying!! Since it's already planted I think I'm going to look for a different type of light. One that is better suited for plants. 🐟🍀

Hi and thank you for subscribing, all the way from Hawaii.❤❤❤Gosh it must be wonderful living in such a beautiful place😊. My pond does have a filter and an ultra violet claryfyer, but even so, yes it is quite hard keeping the pond healthy and clear and maintaining the water clarity.. I put it in when I was younger and could do it, but sadly as I age it's becoming harder to manage. It has given me so much pleasure over the years so it depends on whether that outweighs the maintenance for you or not. Thank you again and sending you my best wishes in Hawaii.xxx

How is your Biorb doing now? I have the same tank, and I regret it big time. The filtration/lava rock substrate is terrible! I ended up trying the pimp my filter hack and then just completely revamped it by not using the middle filter (I added a medium sponge filter that I hid in the back along with the heater and biogravel.) I wish I could easily customize this tank, but the lid has only a tiny space for cords/tubes and the light stinks for foliage. I like the aesthetic of it, but even after cycling and doing weekly 15% water changes, I found issues with nitrate spiking with my API test kit. I’ve had this tank for six months. I know I’m not alone in this because many people seem to have issues with this tank. I’m hoping just converting it to a traditional tank will cause less issues. I have two traditional tanks that perfect and well balanced. The Biorb was an expensive mistake! I only have one hearty betta in there. I feel bad for the little guy.
@debbiestropicalplantsandfi59012 жыл бұрын
Hi what a shame the biorb didn't work out for you. I hope you do get it running better. I do still have mine and I do still really enjoy my one. I now have it as a cold water tank with 2 fancy goldfish in it. I originally had livebearing tropical fish, which loved breeding in there and I had to get another tank for all the fry to go in. When I had well over a hundred babies I decided to switch to fancy goldfish. I do a month;ly change of the centre bottom filter with a biorb compatable sponge, granules and airstone that are so much cheaper than the proper ones. I do a weekly 10% water change using rainwater from my garden, which is really easy and quick to do. The fish are thriving but I do find it slightly annoying that the water gets a orangy tinge to it despite what I do. I only have 2 small plants in there now and they do OK with the lighting. I must say that I really don't like the look of the lava rock bottom and they go rather green with algae and is not nice on the eye. That said I think the biorb overall looks really attractive andI I do like the remote control multi color lights which none of my other tanks have. I got this model as its easy to take the lid off and get access to the whole tank. Most of the other biorb models dont have very easy access and our model does have great uninterupted 360 viewing.My fish are healthy so I still love my biorb and I hope you persevere with your one for your betta fish. Good luck and thanks for commenting.😊
