The customer knows nothing about flooring, so tell them what it needs...!! 5.5mm flooring grade plywood fixed with ringshank nails. Then, a skim coat of feather finish to cover any joints in the plywood and low spots. When dry rub down and sweep out and use a 1.5mm notched trowel to spread the Fball F44 glue over the whole area. Drop vinyl in place while glue is still wet and square up. And fit with a hook and straight knife job done...🎉 If you can't do the job right, don't do the job and just walk away.

When i was a kid in 90’s south west Scotland, some guy put one of those grippers on the top of a high fence so we wouldn’t climb it to get on top of the garages. I was the first kid to discover he’d done this, I’ve still got three separate scars on one of my fingers from it 😂

Can't get my head around back marking and trimming the tile when it rides up the wall from the centre line (hope this makes sense). @@eggyfits Nice, I have to do the same as this in my bathroom, I couldn't have picked a better clip to watch for advice, I thought I'd have to slap Evo-Stik everywhere, it's been over 30 years since I last put lino down, used to have to cut it first, then Evo-Stik the floor and lino, then struggle to fit the lino without making any mistakes. But the biggest thing that you've put my mind at rest with is, you laid it straight onto chipboard surface, it's the same as what's down in my bathroom, and so many saying that it should be ply'd first, I just hope I can make as good a job of it as you have here, thanks 👍
