My goodness, I didn't even KNOW about Nancy in 1962, but I sure learned fast a few years later about her and have been a fan for many years now!

Here I find her forgettable. And yet, this is the same year (1962) in which she, when teamed up with Cannonball Adderley to sing some of the same songs, became immortal. (One can try to analyze the difference in terms of slightly different arrangements, much better sound engineering, and the contribution of the Adderley brothers to the mix, but really the Nancy Wilson/Cannonball Adderley album of 1962 is just one of those inexplicable miracles.)

She was at her best in this era before she developed those vocal mannerisms that tended to strangle her performances.

What a great combo of talent, Bob and Calabria. Let's not overlook Bob's great arrangement of this old standard. Bob writes in the string-style of the late, great, Johnny Mandel. I love the orchestration Bob did for Calabria's voice and his own trombone playing. It was so well, produced. Thanks for such a great piece of music!

I just heard this unbelievably awesome Trombone this evening and had to look him up!😃👍. I played the Trombone, and have a great appreciation for those who stuck it out. What a great sound when played so well as you do. I’m very happy to discover you. Thanks for the great music. Looking into buying some of you albums/CD’s.

CALABRIA FOTI - Do It Again It's quarter to 3, there's no one in the place, except you and me - and Siriusly (just for me?) is playing my favorite living singer CALABRIA FOTI - title track from my favorite of her albums “Lovely Way to Spend an Evening.” Is it at KZbin? Alas never. Google to find that, to my delight, from that same album: the sexiest song Gershwin ever wrote, DO IT AGAIN. “Oh! Please, do it again …. and again, and again, and again ….” Note: 20 seconds of silence before the music starts. Thanks for sharing ChesapeakeMusic. Celebrated elsewhere [search] " Great Melody, Great Lyric, Great Rendition, Songwriting Workshop, Harmony Central " kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKO1e3SeibeDacU

Most know Bob has played a ton of studio work on bass, but it's great to actually see and hear him isolated on it with this project. As far as I'm concerned, Bob is one of a kind, and will always remain in the top 5 of my all-time favorite trombonists.

Nancy Wilson was an incredible talent. I got into her music nearly 10 years ago. I remember it was after hearing Regina Belle and she said she was heavily influenced by Wilson's music. Both legends. Since then I collected a lot of her albums. From the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. Even my Dad had one of her 80s albums. I love her music from every era.
