The door pins on the hinges need to be replaced you can get them at the auto parts i know cause I had a 97 myself.

That plug is for a Leak Detection Pump. Should be located below the purge solenoid. I have a ‘97. Can’t find evap leak. New canister, LDP, purge solenoid, no leaks in vacuum lines. Frustrating

These just run hot. I live in FL and have the 5.2, I'm having a stalling issue only at low speeds. My transmission is a bit wonky too though.IDK the hell it is, she has 314k miles XD

May be obvious to most, but on those seatbelt posts, adjust them into the down (short people) mode first. Will give you more room to move the post plastic.

Absolutely, thanks for posting this. Exact same issue with my '99. Seems the glue is failing for a lot of them around the same # of years, +/- 4yrs lol. If you haven't already, change out your fuse lights (cargo area) with LED ones - the light you will get is WICKED. If you need the item #, reply back and I'll dig it up. Changed all of them in my '96 and '99 (not the same...)

So I was having a what I would presume heat issue I removed the insulation and added vents which helped a lot because the ambient heat was so hot that the sensors and electronics I believe were malfunctioning

I love it raw! If mine didn't have a sunroof I would leave it like that. But now that I have to replace the tubes amd they need to be covered as it woukd be an eye sore can you scrape off the headliner foam and spray paint it and put it back? Also the two clips in the back have to be replaced right? I have a 2001 grand jeep and I have to change the tubes to my moon roof so since I have to have access the hoses I might as well get rid of that cloth overhead too!!

torque position sensor, MAP, throttle, you have to replace all those cheap electric sensors... my mechanic removed my charcoal canister, so I'm looking at this video to see what it actually is... my 97 ZJ stalls but I just keep the revs up with my left foot on the brake... it only stalls sometimes, so I think it's a leak in the pressure... I have a new crank position sensor, new MAP sensor... I also get pinging if the water isn't all the way to the top... but I've been driving this hard and idling it for the past year... trying to solve the pinging and stalling... mostly the pinging, mine only stalls sometimes, like when I come off the freeway and then slow down it stalls, but not going around the city... so I'm trying to stop the pinging...

Last week I got fed up with my ZJ's busted-up headliner dropping sticky brown turds everywhere so I ripped all the fabric off and went after the foam with a nylon brush, vacuum, and N95 because that stuff was nasty. After about 90 mins almost every trace of foam and glue was gone. The bare headliner board is ugly as hell but if you squint it looks like crappy desert camo 😆 Maybe I'll get tired of looking at it eventually and put in the effort to pull the board and cover it with some new fabric, but I only drive the ZJ once or twice a week so I might just leave it as is.

Is your thermostat heating her engine to 195F? I switched that and could change the bad fuel MPG(11.5) to 15.9 MPG

My alternator is working fine, but the regulator on the alternator has broken and the jeep is getting power over 17v Now I have a problem.. I changed the regulator. The jeep worked normally for a few days after that and at one point it turned off and I can't start it anymore. I guess the high voltage burned my coil. I don't get a spark from the spark plugs, but there is current to the coil. Maybe it's the ignition distributor... who knows!? I'm waiting for the coil to arrive, so I'll see if it's her. I hope it's not the computer Greetings

Had the same problems my ZJ stalling backfiring not wanting to go anywhere stuttering replace the computer has ran fine since. Have seen a lot of people with same problem they always have to replace their computer

So do they actually have the OEM sensors for our older Jeeps anymore. Like they say it's Mopar or No car when it comes to sensors especially! I have the 93' Jeep Grand Cherokee I6 4.0 but using a scan tool is kinda worthless (OBD 1)
