Latina friend of mine who grew up in the Mexican border towns near El Paso once told me that everybody prays to Santa Muerte, criminals pray for success in their crimes, civilians pray for protection from the criminals, and the police pray for success catching the criminals.

Have you noticed that Big Joe doesn't have any chrome? Not even a slot for chipping shards. Seems to be a 100% `Ganic. I don't think Kirk has any either, aside from the Holophone he uses to talk to V during his mission.

Scrawny broke but not entirely helpless that's me. I like to think nobody is hopeless personally including maine or Davy since they were both skilled enough to make enough money to provide for others and Establish the closest thing to a family. Their biggest flaw was pushing too far for fame and recognition i mean. Any nobody merc probably dreams of being the next Johnny Silverhand or the guy who kills Adam smasher and blows up Arasaka. They overreach and forget that they have limits thar they need to stick behind if they want to survive instead of being dissected for implants.

Was so sad when I realized T-Bug had got zeroed. Right from the start I liked her character, and it felt like she'd be in it for the long run with the crew; or at least longer than just the first few hours. I would've thought the same for Jackie too but man did they spoil that poor guy's demise. With how horrid 2077's production went, not surprised they may have cut content out of her. But I want to believe that if she was going to betray V, the answers V gives during their conversations could have pushed her to our side even if she's normally all business. But all that said, this is the Cyberpunk world, and in this world there are no true happy endings. Both T-Bug and Jackie were dreaming of one, and they both failed right at the start of the game. This no doubt was on purpose to set the precedent that V is in for a long and tough time; their ending unknown and probably not as happy as most other games' endings.

3:18:00 I actually have a lot of perspective about this and have been thinking about making a video about it sometime because I generally end up always simping for the Valentino's when I work with them. I grew up in California Cholo / Mexican immigrant culture, and the way they nailed it makes me feel like I'm at grandma's house. It's SO DIFFERENT from Roman Catholic cultures outside of Mexico, but regional catholics are always insular (italian, irish, greek orthodox, all have very specific identities). The Valentinos remind me of my cousins at car meets or cruise nights. They would dress to the nines, slacks, tanktops, but cleancut despite being fully covered in tattoos. Face tattoos are fully the norm and viewed almost as a form of repettance for your sins. I also grew up in Brujeria culture, so the mysticism is pretty serious and it makes sense to me that these folk magic tenets would pass on because as tech advances, it's very easy easy to get it to lure people in - I had a joke when the height of WitchTok was happening that H.E.C.A.T.E. should the name of a Sentient AI that was specifically created, activated, and then it took over, Delamain style, to radicalize people to Witchtok... And then um. The election happened a year later so. Cyberpunk is real.

Dino's bar is a unmarked , dingy shithole with water downed drinks, and a high chance of getting stabbed in the ally. or as rocker boys call it. home. roots. where i began. and thats how you know Dino is a poser. everything around him is tailor fit to the rocker persona like its a profile document, except him. tries to pretend he is a rocker boy. unmarked location that only people who know here it is can find. no ambition to grow said business further. or as many disgraced agents of many 3 letter agencies throughout time even IRL call it, Disappeared. He doesn't want to be found. at least not found by those who knew his previous name. not until he is ready. thats my theory at least.

I had the luck of playing this game for the first time in 2.2. I have completed even the DLC. I think it's a great masterpiece. I appreciate your take on the subtleness of the relationship between characters. The endings left me with a great sense of void. It's like a neverending environment where humans are just like ants and the whole things still goes on even when you don't play it. The fact is an European work is so good and it shows. The amount of work on it is monumental.

You have to have picked the lifepath of the Corpo to catch the glimpse of Hanako slipping the Relic into Yori's neural port. There's A LOT of extra dialog and extra content & things that you can say and do and find out and see if you are a Corpo and you choose this ending. Also, SAVE Takemura. You always should, but if you want to get the best out of this ending (especially if your a Corpo) then saving him is the best option because you get to have alot of extra dialog w/ him aswell. It's very much worth it just for gameplay sake, and it makes so much sense that if your a Corpo then you'd have extra little tid bits of secrets and comments and stuff if you are returning to your former life but as a kickass Merc intead of the kickass Counter Intellegence angent that was tossed to the wind after working your way up the corporate ladder for their whole life... just chewed up and spit out.. who wouldnt be mad, right?! 🤩

I was really disappointed that Dino didn't get more gigs (at least 8-9). The trailers show a number of encounters with corpos which would seem to fit right into Dino's bailiwick but the ones we do get are at least detailed and require a level of finesse to complete properly. Never even noticed Reed before you mentioned him. I've been trying to work out where he was the bouncer. Never occurred to me that he was working in Night City proper.

IMO one of the most interesting things we see about Meredith is the text she sends after you side with her and spend the night with her. It’s incredibly human for a woman who seems to be so cold and inhuman. Especially since we never see her again it also feels like it’s genuine to me, making me think she’s actually a good person at her core. Just in a world, and particularly profession, that you can’t be good in and survive

Random question, any plans on doing a character dive on night city it’s self? It’s as much of a character as any of the people living in it. Would love to see what a video like that would be if you were to put your brain to it.
@nathan32523 күн бұрын
I have one solid theory of who and what he is. Each of the fixers has ties to factions. Some the connection is obvious and others you are left guessing. Dino is in truth a go between for several corporations looking to do actions but with no connection to the actual person who put the mission on the table. His simple bar is in truth a clever front. Unlike the afterlife which draws attention constantly, Dino's bar is so out of the way that you would never guess it to be a major hub for corpo espionage. The reason why the FIA has someone there is to monitor that activity to make sure things stay within the rules. Dino allows it because it provides an extra level of protection. Anyone with too crazy a mission has the FIA on them in no time. Anyone who tries to screw them over and the FIA is on to them. As a result, missions are brought to dino. Dino carefully working as a go between arranges for someone else to do the mission. This way there is no way to trace back who put these missions in place. This is why the club is one of the first missions. Dino uses it as a way to verify your capabilities. The reason why he is happy you convince the solo to leave is because unlike the killing the guy you are instead putting that person in a position where they can be eliminated without drawing any attention at all. A death in a bar is still a death in a bar and thus a problem but convincing someone to leave their safety only to end up being taken out without a trace is far more convenient. If I had to compare him to anyone else in the game it would be Mr. Hands. Mr. Hands also is a corperate go-between but he operates in Dog Town instead of Downtown. Both have carefully cultivated a persona that allows them a degree of anonymity. On the surface you just see another rocker but behind the cover you see a professional who also prefers professionals. That is why when you do the gigs perfectly he knows he has hired a pro.

Maybe it is because I am S.Korean and this sort of "loyalty" is kinda common story in East Asia. When I first saw Hanako, I immediately turned into Daleks from Dr.Who. It's because Saburo and Hanako were giving off that Japanese in the ww2 vibe. The image of "Japanese" is "dishonesty" here. We even have a quote from Yi Sun-sin that he never heard a Japanese being honest ( context: during the Imjin war ) Yorinobu, I instantly liked. Sure, he wasn't the good guy but he was doing the "good guy" thing. But unfortunately this is cyberpunk.

And what if Vander story was a story of another Marcus? Think of it and imagine a dark Vander. Let me explain it to you. See the old Piltover and the old Zaun. See them very well. One is a city of prosperity and innovation, wealth and ambition. Another - a city of corruption, prostitution, poverty and child labour. There were three people - Vander, Silco and Felicia. And they wanted to change it all. And they build their organizaton, spread the word about revolution for independence. And don't tell me about violence - both French and American revolutions were very vioient where revolutionaries rooted out and banished the families of "traitors".. I've read historians about American revolution - it was as bloody, chaotic and messy as any other revolution. So, with that said, let us continue. Nation of Zaun was not an impossible dream. According to the lore, Zaun had existed prior to the foundation of Piltower actually. But somehow Piltower got complete control over Zaun and forced it into poverty. So the revolution started. Long and hard was the war between Piltover and Zaun. The workers and miners of Zaun stood for independence as well as the misers of the slums were only the hopeless lived. But at last, the division between the leaders happened. I guess Silco was for the continuation of war despite a chain of bloody defeats. Vander was against it. Vander had enough, he lost hope seeing how the Piltover was winning the war.. So Vander established a contact with the enforcers of Piltover. And they told him - fine, but Silco must die - you must kill him so we could believe you. So Vander drowned Silco and thought him dead. But when Vander appeared before the organizaton it turned out that Silco had made a plan to attack the big bridge. Vander knew that the plans of Silco had been given to the enforcers by none other then him. He knew that the bridge would be defended and that the attack would be a useless slaighter. But he couldn't persuade the members of organization without telling them he betrayed both Silco and their cause. So he decided to go along with the attack and die on that bridge. But Felicia died and the organization was no more but he lived on. This version of events explains everything. Why Vander did not protest when Silco began to establish his empire of Shimmer. Why Vander feelt guilty and sad all the time and taught peace. Vander was trying to get his redemption for the betrayal. Vander was the repented Judas of the uprising. This is why Vander wants to go to jail instead of Vi. He felt guilt he couldn't share. This is why he established a bar and helped many people with money and advice. And the more good deeds he did - the more the guilt ate him alive. Vander let both of his friends die. He got the elite ranks of the revolutionaries wiped out. And he couldn't tell anyone of the betrayal. Because he wanted to help Zaun and he wouldn't be able to help anyone if he told the truth. In fact - Vander and Jinx had much more in common than Vander and Vi. Jinx also "gave up" and found solace in the company of abandoned child - Isha. Jinx was also tortured by guilt and wanted to be punished. P.S. I feel like the Arcane is full of real villains and fake "good guys". Not only Vander but Jayce, Heimerdingeк, Mel, Victor are not good people at all. They''re bad people desperately trying to be good. or at least seem good. Ambition and pride, indifference and manipulation - that is their actions. There are also victims - Vi and "the boy saviour". But there are no true heroes.
