I had this unit installed today in my Chrysler 300. I love the unit, it really looks great and the Bluetooth is awesome. I do have an issue with the unit though. It won’t power off . I removed my key from the ignition however the display stays on with a running clock. Does anyone know how to fix this issue.

I have a 2017 Colorado, which I purchased around jul 2022. Since that time I have had constant computer warnings flash up on the dash and within 30 minutes or less they have inevitably led to the vehicle failing completely. That is, engine now turned off, but cannot take out keys, or move from park, without either disconnecting the battery, or pushing the little button at the front of the auto shift to allow shifter to move from park. The auto electrician has replaced 3 key components in the computer area, the abs , and i think the other is called a bcu, and the engine managment module as well. Each time the intermittent fault goes away, only to return months later. It starts usually with 'service 4wd' then reverse camera fails, the if I'm in traffic, the transmission will start changing up and down unneccesarily like it's hiccupping and jolting, then indicators fail, then come back, same with speed indicator , but headlights remain on. 4 diff auto elecs have had a go at it, and the holden dealership team have blame corroded electrical contacts on the harness , twice now, and think it had prev been submerged. however the other 3 guys all say this is nonsense, and there is no sign of corrosion. Holden dont even stock an electric harness, will have to order one , and it takes 14 hours to replace, quoted at $3300. but like I said the the other mechanics all say, unequivocally this is rubbish. Can anyone tell me if they have had similar problems, and what they did to rectify the problem. At the moment, when it fails, I have to go without a vehicle for a week, they tell me the problem disappeared, and tell me what they think it was, I get a bill and then the same damn thing happens months later again. It's has been inoperative for about a third of the time I have had it, and I cannot take it on long drives because I know it will happen again, and again.

To share with you the wastewater from the system is fantastic for the lawn. My evaporative cooler drain is 19mm irrigation pipe plumbed down to a 60L container on the ground out the back and I clip the garden hose on it and move the hose regularly and the lawn is super green. And regards to humidity inside the house you must have every window in every room open and the moisture does not build up. I run my evaporative 24/7 from December to March when it's a hot summer and it does great. Cheers on sharing you knowledge.

Purchased the same aldi Ferrex self propelled key start 21" mower last month. Works well..neat cut. Was for sale at $399 however i held off until they started selling the green Ferrex smaller mower. Purchased the black mower for a reduced price of $349. Happy so far. Also purchased a hand held plant trimmer today for less than $40. Battery not included . Bonus that it takes the same 20v battery as the mower.

I just had this same problem on my 2016 Colorado. As soon as you said "RFID" I instantly knew what the problem was. I had connected my key to the fob with a fly-fishing magnetic coupler a few days prior. Removed the magnet, and up she started. Thanks!

I wish I could buy a Cool Breeze or Bonaire in California. We are stuck with limited choices of overpriced stamped steel belt driven squirrel cage blower units with Aspen wood shavings as a media. I have had 3 of them in 35 years at this house. They rust out starting with the louvers and the grids holding in the media pads.

2014 chevy cruze. After my car is turned off my car lights and horn are going on. Antitheft message comes on dash. This killed my battery because in the middle of the night the horn and all the lights would flash. I charged the car battery . I changed the negative side battery cable. I replaced the Antitheft module. I left the battery cables unattached for 5 hours. And it still is happening. I don’t know if it’s the computer system. Something is making the Antitheft go on.

As a tech I do recommend (a) anti-static precautions - zapping can and does happen. earth wriststraps are cheap and can be purchased even from jaycar (b) use the right tools. these days you can get torx set from bunnings for about 20 bucks (c) if you are trying to recover the data on the drive you may need to have the eprom chip relocated from the old logic board to the replacement - this needs specialist VLSI capable soldering station. (d) the sata socket itself sometimes can be replaced where there is no other damage to the logic board. (e) RAID should not be regarded as a back-up. If the machine is hit with lightning the whole lot can go. If the RAID controller goes faulty it can be difficult to get the same type of RAID controller to get the data back. (f) Best practice for Backups is to have 4 copies - (a) the working set (computer drives), (b) an on-site back-up - usually a network attached storage drive with hidden/secured shared folder to accept the back-ups; (c) an off-site backup usually uses ssh tunnel ftp to transfer backup updates; (d) an air-gapped backup - this is so hackers cannot destroy or encrypt the data. Airgapped means it is physically disconnected from the network after updated - you could rotate multiple drives for this say one for each day of the week, one for each week of the month, and so-on.
