I'll be honest, I owned and just sold a drz 400e motard.. it was fun but.. 15t front and 39t rear and you are on throttle stop at 125kmph.. dirt wheels is a lot better but in all, the spicy cams and better carb aren't better than a wide ratio box of a drz 400 sm

A MYSTERY !!! New motorcycle runs GREAT on 87 octane and Castrol 10W-40 synthetic oil. 600 mile service, still runs GREAT on 87 octane and Castrol 10W-40 synthetic oil. 1806 miles, 87 octane and Castrol 10W-40 synthetic oil. ENGINE KNOCKS. This time a Full tank of 93 octane and Castrol 10W-40 synthetic oil. STILL KNOCKS. This is on a Triumph bonneville 1200 engine. Seems to be a common occurrence on these all over the world. So it can’t be the gas or oil obviously. England had very high octane fuel but they still knock. We were thinking the cam-chain tensioner but the oil is always the same. High octane fuel doesn’t eliminate the knocking. Tried that myself just yesterday. The only thing I can come up with is a software problem with the ECU during the service at the dealership. Considering this is the common denominator because the bikes are serviced at different dealers in different countries BUT connected to the same mainframe in London to Triumph headquarters that effect the bikes that get ECU updates. From the information given in this video if the timing is off, or the mixture and the timing is off, the result is a misfire. What else could it be ????? Triumph tells us it’s normal but my these bikes run GREAT other than this knocking. People have tried valve adjustments, with no difference. Keep in mind these are NEW motorcycles. Help please ……..

What if you're 6'3" and 300 lbs, and haven't sat on a bike in decades? Is the X-Trainer still the way to go, or is the regular 300 a better bet? I'm not an excellent rider and will likely be a bit intimidated at first. Never did wheelies or jumping, and any large obstacles and steep inclines were always scary. Looking to do some single trail for fun and exercise. Not sure if there will be any difficult parts, but if there are I think good low RPM torque would be beneficial. Since I did have dirt bike once, clutch work and balance etx, i.e. the basics, shouldn't be a problem though.

Hopefully you can answer this…. My motorcycle only has 2000 miles on it, but I had a tiny oil leak. It goes into the shop running great, but it comes out with the oil leak fixed but now it’s knocking. Not bad but enough to notice it. What could they have possibly done to cause this knocking ? They also did the second service that included an oil change. They claim they did not make any valve’s adjustments. I hate that it’s making this kind of noise when it’s just broken in.

His clutch is definitely out of adjustment its not supposed to only slip at low rpms

Well the thing is once I’m on top of a big cubed off road bike I want to rip it like the smaller capacity 450/350/300 Bikes but I can’t to do that I’m not David knight Isolating weight from the larger capacity is going to make a huge difference in the tight going It’s up to you and your riding the 500 will handle the distances the best and can cope with higher gearing on the black stuff The 430 could do the same and perhaps change the front sprocket on your arrival at the track 350/390 there going to buzz like help on a long journey and prob wear out a lot quicker there not XL650/DRZ400 type of bikes Anyway the choice is yours it’s your money and your the lucky guy who gets to pick one Q/the seats put some sheep skin on those on rout lol

I started riding dirt bikes when I was 4. I was kind of forced to get out of it for a while when I was around 15. It always bothered me that it was cut short. Recently, I went out and bought myself a new 2 stroke. When I started checking out videos and forums, there were all these new "rules" and myths. I started thinking, "Is there something I don't know? Are 2 strokes built different now or something?". At the end of the day, they were still the exact same 2 strokes. During my childhood and teen years, I rode a 50, PW80 and a YZ80 however I wanted. There were zero rules. I rode every day in the spring, summer and fall. Hard. I still own all of my bikes and they still run to this day. Thanks for posting this video. One more rule I won't pay attention to.

2 strokes love the wet flow nature of a Carb. It injects fuel before the transfer port. This allows the gas/oil mixture to travel through the transfer port, wick out heat, promote lubrication, and by the time it reaches the cylinder has atomized well. TPI injects directly into the cylinder. On a 2 stroke it doesn’t give the mixture time to atomize, runs super lean and hot, and therefore stresses the motor. Cats been out of the bag for years now. There’s a reason GET ECU offered a relocation kit and there’s a reason KTM switched to TBI, cuz it’s essentially an electronic carburetor. 2017 KTM 300 XC forever….

@@GladiusJon mine didnt . So ask youself isolated incident and wiring harness doesnt burn everywhere where did it start what was the cause buddy's gsxr also burnt out fuse box once . Its isolated like walking down the street and begin killed by a spaceX satellite. Ktm are cool bikes love to have a 200.beta cost like sherco are really good. And they win races for the guy that looks at that i strip and maintain anypart on the bike when i hear bullshit i have to call it,just like this the guy is biased he even mentioned it. I am a fan of any bike some just give more trouble like a landrover vurses toyota

For me the FCR carb is not good for technical riding. It’s only good for drag racing or motocross because it generates non linear power almost like a light switch.
