Not gonna lie I’ve adjusted a couple steering boxes an every time it ends in a fast track to oriley.. if u think ur steering is bad just go ahead and replace the gear bc mark my words if u touch that screw your truck will never drive the same again.

Every single guy wishes deere still made legends like this..hell even my compact 1050 deere responds to turning the fuel up extremely well, and its notoriously way underrated almost all dyno at 44-46hp and deeres infinite knowledge rated them at 37hp lol no idea if the old 1/4 turn equals the old 15hp standard of the fullsized deere (so being a 3 cylinder say 7hp) but we sure do need guys to test this on video. All the old knowledge learned from hard experience CANNOT be lost to time, so we appreciate you making the video

Guessing I'm late but those carbs on the 620/590 have a hole cut into the main jet to cause the saw to run overly fat at high RPMS, and it only gets worse as the saw breaks in due to the increased vacuum from the rings sealing better, the fix is really easy, just take the diaphragm off, drain and clean it with brake cleaner/carb cleaner and put a dap of JB weld over the hole, let it dry overnight, put it all back together and your saw will lean out properly, just make sure you haven't got it too lean obviously.

1/3 of a turn is about 20hp give or take. After 2.5-3 rounds you actually start pulling fuel out of it because the rack isn’t able to get open all the way.

What about the two adjustments right above the plate you removed. I know one is for idle set but don't know which one or what the other does. Also what is proper procedure setting idle? Is there a sequence between the stop on the quadrant and the set screw on the pump? Mine was actually turned up a little to much for me so I cranked it down a little to save on fuel and now it idles to low

Yes. If you go too much you will fuck up the gears. Some teeth may break during normal wear from turning. I just replaced a steering gear box because of that. It broke teeth and wouldn't turn completely left or right skipping the broken teeth. Think of a bad flywheel with teeth missing.
