Both of those guys, Dean and Turnupseed were passing cars in a really bad spot on the road with multiple cars around them.

Fun Fact: I've never read a fun fact about anything or anybody that was actually documented. Fun Facts are always what somebody says about someone else with no proof of any kind.

James Dean forever young. He left way too soon and it is our loss. To me, him and Elvis were the coolest cats. Crazy that Jerry Seinfeld’s TV mom could have been Mrs. Dean.

Bill Hickman, the very well known stuntman who appeared onscreen as the wheelman of the Charger in Bullitt, was following James Dean that day but was too far back to see the crash. If he had seen it, I'm sure that he would have been a very reliable eyewitness as to what really happened.

Ironically all three stars died tragically or violently . Curse ,maybe.

Rebel remains one of the most haunting films ever made. All three of them- Dean, Natalie, and Mineo- were outstanding! And all three met violent ends, which makes the scene in the abandoned house even spookier. God bless them all

Why does it even matter, his sexuality... Why do people want, need to know? James has been gone for so long now..whatever he did or didn't do is no longer valid..when people die..why is it people "talk" it had nothing to do with anyone except the ones James was with.

James Dean is the most criminally overrated human being in history, it's ridiculous. A lot of people that worked with him said he was weird, strange, impossible to work with and very insecure. Most of the cast of Rebel Without a Cause, East of Eden, Jack Warner, Elizabeth Taylor and Rock Hudson never liked him at all and they knew him personally. I'm willing to bet all of you people wouldn't like him either, if you actually knew him and had to work with him.

Lionel Ray Williams, a young pizza delivery man with a long criminal record, was convicted and sentenced in March 1979 to 57 years in prison for killing Mineo and also for committing ten robberies. Sound familiar? Long criminal record, still out on the streets, killed somebody. This is STILL going on TODAY and IT HAS TO STOP.

No doubt this is fascinating to here this. 1st thing I thought of course (what that ticket would be worth today!) What can I say I sold signed guitars for years to the Hard Rock all around the world, so that's just in me, also no way he was speeding, no alcohol, internal only injuries, mostly, the CHP spoke German, his friends were behind with the trailer & the fact ambulance had an accident on the way, & the guys name who turned in front of him! (Are you kidding?) all so interesting to me. PS. Turnupseed, turn u speed, is very very fortunate he didn't have a terrible life from haters, Dean fanatics ext.. he's very lucky at least from what I know I've never heard of anyone or group stalking the guy. After all he KILLED JAMES DEAN IT WAS HIS FAULT 1000%.

I think he was so empty and insecure because of his mother's death. He thought he was undeserving and not good enough. Which is insane, because he was an amazing actor!

Also he had a father who simply refused to love him and he chased that love his whole life and never got it, that left a huge hole inside him.

Why doesn't anybody ever talk about testimony of Cliff Horde (and his son), Tom Frederick, and John Robert White??? All were involved moments before the accident. Seconds before the fatal crash, Dean overtook and passed, at high speed, John Robert White's car (both were travelling west). And in the same manuever of passing White's car Dean ran Cliff Horde's car (travelling east) off the road and into a fence. Horde said he had to do this to avoid hitting Dean head-on in Horde's east-bound lane. Dean then pulled back into the west-bound lane and crashed with Turnupseed. There's also testimony from Tom Frederick who was just passing Turnupseed on the right, and at the time of the accident!

His face was NOT mutilated! Years ago a friend showed me a photo of Dean on a gurney (shortly upon arrival in the ER) with a blanket half way up his chest; it showed his beautiful face lying peacefully as if sleeping, the only sign of trauma bits of glass still embedded in his face.

Very sad ending of an extraordinary young man with so much promise and immense talent. Dean had so much more to give. It is almost as if he felt like he had to rush life and live fast because he somehow knew life was short for him. Tragic. If he were alive today, he'd be 93 years old.
