Wikipedia: There are also surviving gold coins from Offa's reign. One is a copy of an Abbasid dinar struck in 774 by Caliph Al-Mansur, with "Offa Rex" centred on the reverse. It is clear that the moneyer had no understanding of Arabic as the Arabic text contains many errors. The coin may have been produced to trade with Islamic Spain; or it may be part of the annual payment of 365 mancuses that Offa promised to Rome. There are other Western copies of Abbasid dinars of the period, but it is not known whether they are English or Frankish.

Well that’s settled…Noah, from the Ark story, must’ve been African. The table of nations in the Bible (altho Bible scholars have already debunked it) says his son Ham had a son, Cush, & he birthed the Cushites…he was their leader😂

Absolutely fascinating from start to finish, This should be shown in the school's today to show what a brilliant country Britain is instead of putting this great country down.

I can only bear to read the medieval texts, because they're the ONLY stories that aren't non stop fawning over Arthur and actually give him some agency in the fall of his own kingdom, because back then these writers worshipped divine powers and not monarchs. No one seems to notice the high amount of propaganda in this legend, which there was a reason it fell heavily out of favour during the Renaissance only to be revived in Victorian England. There's a reason everyone is so obsessed with the "historical Arthur" and only Arthur despite it being an absolute fact that there was never a historical figure with any of the attributes of the legendary one. There's a reason Arthur is pushed into the foreground and given his knight's plots (grail questing, forbidden romance with Guinevere, baby trapped by woman disguised as Guinevere, jousting incognito in a tournament, killing the dragon, rescuing the maiden from the tower, marrying the loathly lady, beheading the green knight). There's a reason his triumphant rise with focus on his divine right to rule is told again and again even though the canon text is called "The Death of Arthur" On a related note it is also very sexist the way the women of the legend are erased, neutered, or villianized and triumphantly killed off. Look at the uncritical "burn the witch" treatment of Morgan, or Guinevere's romance censored all the time not because it's a bad story or doesn't make sense, but because it weakens Arthur and we can't have that. The Lady of the Lake being reduced to a disembodied hand and Isolde to "and Isolde" are two other obvious examples

This is a very negative interpretation of the establishment of a Church that the Son of God directed through Peter. Peter would NOT be disappointed in this Church which has stood the test of time. Of course he would be disappointed in sin - but he also knows full well how sinful we all are. Peter would be - and is - astounded at the work of God through his "fishy" hands.

As a Norwegian the ignorance in this comment section is so cringe🤡 You can’t claim “viking ancestry” because the Vikings wasn’t a set group of people or an ethnic group, but a “profession”, aka piracy. The majority of which was farmers most of the year, then occasional raiding, pillaging, looting, rape and murder and explore new lands as a bonus… and you can’t claim to be something that died out as a cultural movement X years ago with the Christening of Norway. You gonna be so embarrassed if you come to Norway proclaiming to be “99% viking”🤣🤣🤣 Everyone will be like sure👀🫣🫠 To go into Viking was something you did not who you were. Get educated before uttering nonsense. Also no actual proof the Vikings had tattoos or did tattooing in general. Nor were they blonde. This is a stereotype rooted in debunked racist ideology. History the Norsemen from Norway who were the ones who raided and settled Scotland and Ireland was dark. Blonde hair didn’t even origin in Europe, but Siberia Asia and was brought to northern Norway by the Proto Finns during the Last Ice eAge.

Vikings were hired by the Roman Emperors to be their bodyguards so they must've been better than the most elite troops in Byzantine army. Also Parthians fought like Mongols and beat Crassus very easily. Also Viking and Mongol armies were usually led by their best warriors instead of politicians.
