Is it better to use a plastic filling funnel spout to avoid coolant level down and air issue or is not good to use this tool because the level is always max and mybe there is an issue when the level is always max during the process?. The level down is my inly issue to start doing theis experience

Just to clarify, you cannot go into 4HLC going 60mph, anytime you engage the centre lock you must be at a stop. This is what my sticker says on the drivers door

Interesting, totally fine to do so on US models (I do it all the time) and the only warning of coming to a stop on our stickers is for shifting into 4LLC. lusooverland.com/montero-gen3-transfer-case-4x4-operation-decal-mr534216/

I've got a 2006 XLS from Puerto Rico here in AZ. Cloth seats, no sunroof and the modern xfer case and traction control :D. It's HYBLID because there is no R in Japanese lol. A lot of overlanders talk about global vehicles being king of long distance travel but they all forget the Gen 3 was a globally available vehicle when they make their "lists". Any continent will have parts even China.

I am on my second 2001 I love these things unfortunately the second one needs the transfer case switches replaced I read the codes (blinks). just havent had the time or extra cash to get it fixed. Got a video of my first one up I will have my second one posted soon. 1st one I have is 215k miles all stock, second one is at 175k with an ironman lift.
@luso_overland
@luso_overland 17 күн бұрын
Replacing the switches is not super fun since there is not much room to work in there above the transfer case. Ideally, if you can lift the entire vehicle up high enough so that you can sit underneath it then that makes it much easier. Then just remove the rear driveshaft and transmission crossmember and the tcase will hang down enough to do the job. Be sure to clean the ball bearings below the switches too. We carry the switches, new crush washers, and crossmember bushings.

Sadly, I totaled my Gen 2.5, but that experience and how it withstood the damage is why I just had to have another Monty and now own a Gen 3. It was really quite impressive, and had the frame not been bent (and a crease in the roof) I might have rebuilt it. My shoulders are a bit wide, and I always felt crammed into the Gen 2.5. That has been alleviated a bit in the Gen 3. Also, the step up from the 3.5 and 4-speed to the 3.8 and 5-speed was SO much better at highway speeds. I do miss the manual locking rear I had in the Gen 2.5. I never even used it, but just knowing it was there was a comfort.

Turn the wheel so the 8mm set screw is on the bottom of it will just fall back down and stop the wheel from coming off. The wheel should come off easy. If it doesn't, the screw isn't all the way out.

Hi! This happened because the left spring becames smaller over time than the right spring? Is this it? ... Note: I have a fantastic 2006 Pajero, 3 doors. But, in my case, and because of this video, I measured the distances and found that the side where the spring gave the most was the right side, the passenger side. About 1 centimeter. I think this may have happened when I jumped once, when the wheel lightly touched the right fender. Note2: My car is lifted and has spacers.
@luso_overland
@luso_overland 23 күн бұрын
If it has more weight on it then it would be more susceptible to sagging more over time but this also happens right off the bat with brand new springs if one is supporting more weight than the other.
@DocGTO
@DocGTO 23 күн бұрын
I know with the front suspension on our trucks whatever you put in the front will function like its 50% more. So a 10mm will give about 15mm lift. The rear is a 1:1 though. I don't run any front sway bar on my 3rd gen since it's primarily overland and off-road. I got tired of replacing end links. LOL
@luso_overland
@luso_overland 23 күн бұрын
@@DocGTO yep, 1.8:1 ratio in the front so this 6mm spacer created 11mm of lift.
@DriftaholiC
@DriftaholiC 23 күн бұрын
You moved the travel range of the suspension down on that side by the thickness of the spacer. You might even bottom out the shock now before the bump stop causing it to fail. Sometimes with springs like these the manufacturing tolerances are enough that it's worth swapping the left and right sides to sort of corner balance the vehicle. I think an adjustment at the spring perch would make more sense in this scenario, of course not so much that you risk coil bind. Cheers!
@luso_overland
@luso_overland 23 күн бұрын
@@DriftaholiC good looking out but it’s a tiny 6mm spacer, plenty of room in the shock’s travel range still and have verified bump stop hits first (added an extended length one). Breaking shocks is only a problem when ppl add much bigger spacers and mostly a Toyota thing as well ;-)

Tried for 30 minutes, got less than half a cup of fluid, seems very slow way of doing a flush. Gotta do heater core after flushing, prolly just push tap water through the heater core hoses, before putting on new heater core.
