Swap out the Velcro mag retention straps with bungee pull tabs several companies make them and they’re less than like $20 well worth it
@GremlinGear18 сағат бұрын
@@parkerbrough3852 I’ve actually tired the bungee tabs before I made this review since they came with the Spiritus TAP upgrade kit! and for whatever reason I like the stock Velcro tabs more lol. I kinda despise bungee pull tabs in general, just my preference. but you’re totally right it’s really easy to upgrade over to those pull tabs! (And they look cooler)

According to what I was told, if you're using a GMRS radio on FRS channels, you're still obligated to give your call-sign once every 15 minutes. Using FRS radio on GMRS simplex channels is fine without using your call-sign. But to stay legal, you're licensed for GMRS, use it
@GremlinGear18 күн бұрын
@@Adamdaj So FRS radios will not have the extra GMRS channels pre programmed to them, FRS radios can have up to 14 channels available. it’s the GMRS radios that have the extra 8 “high power” (up to 50w) channels. But yes, to abide by the FCC regulations, it’s safe to say anytime you are using a GMRS radio, doing simplex or operating a repeater, you should be using your given callsign during the given time intervals and at the end of transmissions! So yes I think we’re saying the same thing here lol.

I honestly like the idea of not wearing camouflage as a civilian in a shtf situation. This way I can ditch my gear and blend in. I typically just wear earthy looking tones. Maybe a camouflage jacket that I can easily take off. Team use, m81 top and kaki color botton. Great video.

I was issued that flc and wasnt personally a fan, instead I run the old lbe belt/y harness inside a war belt that has connection points for the harness. currently running a condor slim belt around the alice belt but plan to sew a new belt and harness based off what ive liked and disliked while running it. Surplus is awesome with a little TLC, but I highly recommend getting into sewing your own stuff if you like gear and dont want to spend thousands.

Also, I this equipment is not for a “rule of law” scenario, where EDC and CC is very rad and the thing to do👌 I’m sure you may have found this video to see the Fanny pack as an option for EDC, which it can be an excellent one! This is not an EDC video. I also wouldn’t wear a 2 piece belt, or a waist belt with a gas mask for EDC ever! :)

Good vid. In the early to mid 2000s I recall a few patriot and veteran youtubers making their own gear. One guy liked wearing dockers trousers and sewed m81 bdu pockets onto his grey pants for range training/ LARPing in the woods. He had better and more professional stuff stowed away for when shtf. Another more current one is Evasion Survival, Alaska. Guy does his own DIY gear. If you are seriously on a budget or can't get decent surplus in your area, don't be afraid to go ghetto tech. Rit dye, rattle can and some durable cargo pants and long sleeve top etc. can all be custom tailored to your area. Experiment with gear and patterns to see what works for you. Take notes on historical examples of irrigular armies, Partisans, their cammo and gear used etc. Make sure you rinse and air out/dry your outfit to get the film from the paint out inbetween coats. The smell will dissapate after a bit. Pennies on the dollar if you know how to thrift shop or score gear online. KZbin has a treasure trove of vids on sewing, kit bashing and mods. Put some time into it and you can come up with something functional and a fraction of the cost of Gucci Operator gear. That extra cash can go towards better made gear and equipment. The kit you choose should also identify you as militia or aligned with your countries fighting forces. Assuming the Geneva convention still applies, it will determune how you are treated among allies and opposing forces. You may end up a prisoner of war instead of dangling from a make shift gallows. But that is a subject for a different video. Sorry for the wall of text, I had an ADHD moment while typing 😅
