That rubber soil boot wouldn't last over a year here in Texas sun. Then you have leaks.

I'm a contractor that has never installed staying seem in house. I'm just looking at this because I meet to do about 20 feet of end-wall on a job. Why Why Why Why isn't the sidewall flashing piece bent so that it has the same termination as the counterflashing???????????? He'll it should be am option tho get a counterflashing with a leg that attaches to the Z flashing attached to the roof. Why the two pieces.??????

There must be a reason for this but why not put the perimeter metal down first and then run the sharkskin over it? In other words, shingle the components so any penetrating water would be shed.

Really appreciated the visual w the angle math. Easy to adjust a ribbed panel, but am still unclear on how you would adjust with a snap-in standing seam panel. They showed a good example of a wonky standing seam, but no explanation on what to do about it if you see it coming.

Hi, so really would like a standing seam metal roof but have a low slope roof. Not a complicated roof only a couple pipes coming through. From my understanding machine seamed is the only metal roof system appropriate for my roof. Is that true? And should I still look to a different roofing system if I have this low slope, also live in Alaska and will have snow on it. Thanks.

Great info! I recently got contacted to clean a standing Seam roof, which might have organics on it. I’m thinking it’ll be safe to use a mild laundry detergent and bleach mix, that I’ll soft wash on it, hit it with a bristle brush then rinse with water. Would ya’ll agree??

I built my first house with metal singles and wouldn't use them again, but my new house has a corrugated metal roof and has lived through 2 cyclones. I put corrugated roofing iron on my new shed as well, and it has lived through one cyclone so far. I will continue using it on every new roof I do.

It seems to me that the radiant barrier could be installed between the wooden batten layers, to provide a backup bulk water layer, while still preserving drying of the insulation and cooling of the underside of metal panels. What do you think? I'm thinking about a roof slope of 5:12, with the location being Northern Idaho. Putting the battens on a 45 degree slope.

***PLEASE HELP!!!! Hey man, I watch a lot of your videos and really appreciate them. I just bought a house with a metal roof that resembles Spanish tile. I’m confident there's enough airflow under the roof, but I’m unsure if the soffit and gable vents are sufficient to cool the attic. The contractor installed pink fiberglass insulation (not spray foam) between the attic and roof, using staggered wavy plastic pieces between the attic beams with insulation laid on top. I’m not sure if there's enough ventilation behind it. He also raised part of the ceiling in the dining, kitchen, and living room, leaving a smaller attic space there. Is this a problem? I’m under contract and can still have him remove it. I was thinking of adding a fan for better airflow, but after watching your videos, I’m concerned. My home inspector mentioned the insulation shouldn't be there, but your metal roof videos suggest insulation is okay if not better. I know you use spray foam, and this is fiberglass, but I don't want to make a big mistake in our first home. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! Also I'm in New Jersey if that helps and I'm open to anyone else in the comments opinions thanks very much

on an exposed fastener metal roof, I plan to install a high temp ice and water shield over the entire roof plywood decking. Then install 2x4 purlins horizontally. The closures at the bottom are foam while at the ridge vent are vented. What kind of closures at the eaves/drip edge allow air flow between the IWS and the ridge ? It appears the industry standard is to put a non vented foam strip between the metal roof and the drip edge at the eaves. How does air flow from the eaves to the ridge if foam closures don't allow it to flow? I am concerned with condensation forming on the underside of the metal roof and possible rot to the purlins.

I literally watched over a dozen metal roof videos and Ive yet to see anyone address the issue of panel length and size of roof. Ive seen exposed fastener roofs that were 30x40ft. How is this done when the panels are only 16ft long?

Appreciate TMRC's willingness to make this video but really, the soundtrack is OBNOXIOUS and detracts from the presentation. Painful to watch. Addressing an "out of square" roof was a valuable point. The camera work on the "Z" clips could have been tighter.

Hi, our bushfire sprinklers draws water from a dam, the water in the dam is very dark from tannins. The dam is in the bush so it has lots of leaves and debris. Our new zincalume roof is now stained and orange/brown, tanned you might say. How would I remove this? Pressure washing doesn’t budge it. Soap doesn’t seem to budge it. Thanks
