It's so cool seeing ppl moving to RO. I was born there but my family immigrated to the States when I was a kid and RO was still communist and NO foreigners lived there. It blows my mind to see ppl choosing to move there and loving it! I loved it too...but I'm biased 😉 Glad you found "home"...until we're truly home with our Heavenly Father, that is ❤

Fara suparare, voi nu aveti prieteni romani!? Nu ati reusit sa va integrati in societatea romaneasca? Nu va vad niciodata in compania romanilor. Eu sunt roman si deocamdata locuiesc in Germania si sunt ca voi, dar nemtii sunt reci si distanti spre deosebire de romani.

We have a lot of Romanian friends 😂 I don’t like to always show them in vlogs for their privacy though. Pablo is fluent in the language (I’m still learning) and has integrated very well. 😉

Mamaliga se prepara altfel decat polenta. Foarte multi nu stiu asta. Ma gandeam ca gatiti voi mancare romaneasca. Ca sa iasa buna, trebuie sa ai multa rabdare cand gatesti mancarea romaneasca. Ce mancati voi acolo, e o gluma proasta....

We are planning on moving to RO from California. Can you cover how you did about transferring or keeping US bank accounts, phone service, mail etc and how you enrolled your kids in the Romanian schools? Thanks
@THECALDERONFAM2 ай бұрын
Hi! We went with a U.S. based bank that also handles international transactions. Once we arrived, we got a Romanian phone account (Orange or Vodafone are popular). We keep an address in the states as well as our physical address here in Romania. We have either done a private international school or homeschool while being here. So that part was easy. Hope your move goes well!

Adevarat a Inviat! Awwww! I remember when my cousin was little and used to like hanging out with me like Milla did with her cousins. Also, quick question, not sure if I asked this exact one before but here it comes: does the church you're affiliated to/attending celebrate the Resurrection the same or in a similar way to the Orthodox Church? Meaning, did you guys dye eggs and go to the midnight service and bring home light and take "pasti" home to be had every morning of the holiday? BTW you really got the hang of sarmale, salata de boeuf and mamaliga. And your pastries (cozonac, pasca and cornuri) looked straight out of a baking show. What filling did you use for them? I mean, pasca is pretty self explanatory, but the others intrigued me. Tip (although you probably know it already): for the shine on the scones/rolls/buns, you can use egg wash, before putting them in the oven, or a little bit or syrup made with sugar or honey, after baking them. I hope you're feeling better with your ENT issues, Bethany.
@THECALDERONFAM2 ай бұрын
Hi! Our church doesn’t celebrate the same way as the Orthodox Church, but those traditions sound fun! The only thing I didn’t make this time was the cozonac, which was gifted to us from a bakery. It was pistachio filled and delicious!
