I was begging you to locate a long timne passenger , which is according to him , you are holding him in a room like a jail. For what reason ; I don'T know! Absolutely idiotic that it wasn't extended during the reconstruction. Should never have been built so pathetically short in the first place.

@@yoironfistbro8128 first off it's 2.5km and second It's plenty long enough for most planes to get up especially since most of the planes that operate there are 737 and a320 family It can't handle jumbos like the a380 or 74 but they are no longer serviced anyway

And yes, it is too short for 737s and A320 family aircraft at full load, and that will only get even more relevant when the A321XLR starts flying a few years from now.. It's a game changer for medium and long haul operations from smaller cities, but the length of our runway is destroying its chances here.

You can't have aircraft landing on a cork runway, it's far too soft.

Cork airport is not an international airport, it is only a feeder airport for the bigger Hub's, it needs at least 2to 3 kilometres to the main runway to take the bigger airplanes , until then it is only a big Heliport !!!!!

16/34 was extended by a 1000ft in 1989 and from what I know further extension are not possible as land on both sides is privately owned. Unless Cork is planning a major expansion.

There is privately owned land on both sides of runway 34/16 therefor it would be a waste of money to extend the runway by 100m or so.

@@lukebyrne3715 LOL have you ever heard of compulsory purchase orders? It doesn't matter if the land is privately owned or not. Projected growth of the airport doesn't require it to have an extended runway.

@@AntiDumb2023 if the government were to introduce a CPO on land the planes would extremely close to houses. Quite frankly the government don’t have a lot of money to spend after the pandemic and there is no need to extend the runway as planes such as the Boeing 747 (the second largest passenger plane) landed in Cork airport before when they extended the runway in 1989 to bring it to its current length of 6998ft.

Any chance of a rail link? After ripping up all the west cork (including Kinsale/Ballinhassig) rail lines and piecemeal selling off of a valuable one percent gradient route, for a pittance, shortly after the official opening of Cork airport. It would be GREEN.
