Crestron SIMPL Windows and Vision Tools Pro-e are unfortunately only available to Crestron dealers and authorized partners. This does makes it hard to dabble in and play around when you are getting started - which may or may not be the actual intention.

I have a projector and the control is based on its feedback. I have 6 different strings. Example string is \x06\x51\x31\x0D\x0A. The feedback is 6 bytes but 3rd and 4th byte are different which has the entire control of the projector. I extracted those bytes and polled it back to projector and can have the required results individually. But there is one condition where I need to poll all the conditions of the projector at the same time and each of their analog feedback must be stored at the same time. All of my tries have failed so far. If you can share some knowledge if how to achieve the results?
@OverWorkedLogic
@OverWorkedLogic Ай бұрын
I'm trying to understand what you are doing exactly. If you need to poll all the conditions but have to ask a different way, couldn't you just send out the poll requests in a sequence and parse out each response into a different analog value for each property? There might be a poll command that returns everything, or maybe you just have to ask it multiple times for each thing. You could do this with something as simple as a stepper with a .1s delay in between, or get more sophisticated and use a ring counter instead of a stepper - use the incoming response (sawpulse or something on the serial rx) to advance the ring counter to trigger the next poll command. Or build something in SIMPL+ which is probably going to be a bit harder initially but easier to adjust and troubleshoot. Hopefully this is somewhat helpful -Dustin

@@OverWorkedLogic Thank you Dustin, Unfortunately there is no poll command and all depends on the command I send. Using a Stepper wouldn't help. Let me explain, I have these commands to send 1. Power ON/OFF 2. Input 1-3 3. Volume UP/DOWN 4. Lamp Counter 5. Projector Error (If any) What I need to achieve is that any of these commands sent must result in showing the current state of each section without changing their current state. As I said, I have tried every possible way in my knowledge.

Im using BI amp instead of Crestron and its soooo much more easier, cheaper, simpler and less problematic. Crestron is just 1 Big Problem after another...

this is a weird comment, you spammed this comment on a number of videos. It's biamp not BI amp so it seems like this is coming from a bot not a real user. Maybe a guerilla marketing tactic from a low tier marketing company they use? Anyway, there might be a shred of truth to the comment itself. I haven't really had a chance to evaluate what biamp is doing for control these days. I am quite comfortable using their DSP's, the TesiraForte platform is great for controllability and performance. Every platform that controls other devices can suffer from "one big problem after another" from time to time. I'm open minded to other solutions given the use case -Dustin

Can you do one about SIMPL# pro, especially using httpClient.GetAsync - I'm having trouble figuring out how the callback delegate works. I tried doing it sync but when a WattBox struggled to respond it stalls out my entire touch panel.

I have a question, What if I already have the room lighting preset working and the condition is that The occupancy sensor should trigger a light scene called "Preset 1" upon entering the room, only if the lights are off. If any other light scene is active, then the occupancy sensor should not trigger any light scene. What are the logics which we can use or how to do it if you may help? I have an active project and need guidance. Thank you!
@OverWorkedLogic
@OverWorkedLogic 7 ай бұрын
What I would do is look to see how you can determine if any light in the room is not off. Depending on the type of light module, the driver in SIMPL might give you an on feedback digital signal. This isn't going to be all of them, most will only give you an analog signal of the current level. You can use analog comparison (I like the analog comparison full set, speedkey ACOMP2 I believe as it is easier to use than the other analog compare). Initialize one analog signal at boot to be 0d , this is your "analogZero" that you can use across the program to compare against. For the light loads in the room, compare the load level with analog zero. Use the = digital output of the compare to drive a "load is off". Long story short, the analog comparison (full set) will give you a digital signal telling you when each load is off. Then you can just us an AND with your sensor trigger: load1off AND load2off AND load3off AND sensorTriggerPulse. That is the basic premise of how I would approach this.

I'm using a drawing program called SketchWow. It is kind of like a basic version of what Visio does but comes with a decent amount of shapes and objects and also has a way to apply a "sketchy" style to lines and shapes. I wouldn't necessarily consider it a serious drawing tool but it is good for throwing things together like this. I've also used it for UI mockups.

I appreciate your efforts and follow your videos about Crestron programming. Thank you first of all. Only thing about this video is, in NEC protocol document command examples include the checksum. So actually, commands are \x02\x00\x00\x00\x00\x02 and \x02\x01\x00\x00\x00\x03 for power on and off respectively.
