Return Lyrics [Verse 1] Keep to myself until it's over Well I can't see it but I know it's there And if you'd like the sight of failure for a change Well you can call me anytime Little boy, with all that weight upon your shoulders You know you never stood a chance [Chorus] G.L. was a drive, and I'm outside And never felt further from home It's permanent, like ink on skin Return is a foreign word

One of the most exciting moments of my life was being a 17 year old kid from mostly rural west Texas finding myself in Austin and driving slow down 6th street in traffic and seeing them unloading their gear out in front of Emo's. Seems pretty innocuous or quotidian, but that was a big moment for me.

My relationsship with emo is strange. On the one hand, i absolutely love the drive and the sadness. On the other hand, the sometimes very obsessive lyrics about (ex-)girlfriends make me feel very uncomfortable, because i've been this way in way too many relationsships. (Not especially Tigers Jaw, but bands in this genre in general).
