Going first let's you potentially attack first with the Evo. Like with Weezing, or any other Evolutions that maintain the cost of a single energy. Both have advantages, you just need a deck that can use them.

@@Ccasiiss yea I totally can :) In the pokemon tcg community there is a subset of people who collect waifu cards (in the PTCG context it’s any full art of a female character) misty is the most sought after of these. So it’s like they are plague with the thoughts of misty 🤣

Moltres can allow you to flip for energy if you have 1 energy attached. Can't use it on your first turn, but make up for it on your second.

Yeah, I relate to this ALOT. Its rly annoying, and I always go first. Whenever this happens I usually just groan, and continue playing like nothing happened, but since u can play supporter cards on your first turn, if u have a misty card, and a water pokemon card out, you can a crazy amount of energy, In fact u flip a coin, and when u get a tails, it ends the card use, BUT for how many heads u get, u get that much energy on that card, that technically means u can get 10 energy on your water pokemon just like that, tho youll have to get misty, and a basic pokemon to place down, and when u do that, (hopefully) FREE ONE SHOT KILL 😭

That's honestly not the most broken. You'll realize that in certain situations with multiple threats, ability prevention and the dreaded mist energy. Try knocking out a pokemon with that attached and you will end up causing 200 damage to yourself with nothing to that pokemon 👍

@@deezyb88_64 the card text reads “knock out your opponents active pokemon, if your opponents active pokemon is knocked out this way this pokemon does 200 damage to itself” Mist energy prevents the effects of attacks so the active Pokemon cannot be knocked out. No KO, no damage taken :)

@@deezyb88_64 if you are playing online, PTCGL takes a moment to check for any effects or items or energies that would prevent such an attack effect from proccing, hence why it takes a million years for the animations to play out and the card to resolve 🤣

@@deezyb88_64 as for ability prevention, it’s not actually an ability, it is an effect of a attack. So if a Pokemon has an ability that shuts off other Pokémon’s abilities specifically, it wouldn’t effect frenzy gouging. Because technically it isn’t an ability :) sorry for all the comments I hope that clarified!

@@sang_from_rushhour3009 I see both zard at two and at three but in my experience with my build running 5 energies the odds of having a 3rd zard on board with energy ready for reign is super slim unless you are using your rods exclusively for energies but generally speaking if you have energies to rod you also have a zard to rod most of the time. 3 was too bricky for me personally.

If you go to a local or something, do you get a side deck like yugioh? A couple of cards you can switch into your deck for match ups. Or is the deck you register with all you get?

@@txta786 sadly no side decking in Pokemon. Tourneys are structured totally differently. In yugioh you get roughly 45 to 50 minutes for a best of 3 match. In Pokémon you get 45 minutes for a best of 1 (GENERALLY the rules are different from locals to regionals and depends on the amount of players in the event) Both are Swiss based tournaments :) I hope this helped!
