Epic setup!! I am curious, as I may possibly endeavor on a similar project of my own one day, what type of bearing you may have used for the tilt axis? Where did you get the gear for your system? i am looking for 5mm bore gear to take a 200 step 1.8 stepper to give a clean 360 Degre at 1 or even .5 degree of motion. still trying to figure out the gear tooth and size.

Hello Sethy Jean, Compliments of the season. It's now been two years since you've posted this video but I've just come across it. First I'll like to say very good job, well done. Second, I'll like to ask you and the community why are pan and tilt machines designed with servo motors ? I've been given a levelling project at uni and my first thought was stepper motors. But the more I research it the more I find that nobody has used stepper motors. Is there a reason apart from the lack of feedback from stepper motors. I like the joystick approach, I was tending to a app controller but I guess the joystick would be quicker and less of a learning curve. Lastly, is there any chance I could get the schematics and code from you, it will really help me on my way and my design.
