Will the 757 have the same system depth as the old Level-D model in FSX did?
@Julian-jn3jk2 күн бұрын
Hi - super excited on this, literally can't wait!! One question, will you be implementing the Rockwell Collins large display option for the cockpit, or just the original 757 version with a mix of dials and electronic displays? I noticed the outgoing Jet2 757s had the larger displays. Would it be an optional extra?

It looks phenomenal!!!😁 I have a question and I hope it's not weird but will this be available LATER on Xbox? I say later because I know it will be an additional job for you but I just wait to see if it's in your idea then expand, because like other excellent MSFS developers like Phoenix or Ifly, due to external things you can't bring your products to Xbox. If this question was answered at another time, I'm sorry. ✌🏽🤙🏽

Hi. We will eventually make an xbox version but it won't have all of the features ( like terrain radar ) of the PC version.

I am yet to buy 2024. I will hold off until the game matures. The fully live aspect I am apprehensive about as someone who lives in a rural location, where the internet can drop out or at least go very slow for a little bit. 2O2O is in the best place right now, very stable and a good selection of aircraft. I look forward to the bluebird 757.

I don’t think folks understand why 2024 is cloud based…. It’s because of size! It would be cheaper for Asobo to not have to maintain lots of servers and the constant streaming, but a mere 2 TB is nowhere near what it would take to store this simulator. You would essentially need your own server with massive storage. This new world we are seeing comes at a cost of space… hence running it from the cloud. On a positive note, many of us are having great performance. I just don’t think we are as vocal. 2024 has its quirks and bugs, but it’s running great for me. The Fenix runs well (some issues, but no dealbreakers). I actually deleted 2020 this morning because after flying 2024 for a while now, 2020 definitely feels like a step back, especially with the Fenix working. 2020 was in much worse shape a week after launch. The server thing (some are experiencing) will get better. Microsoft isn’t going to let this thing fail. But again, I don’t think it’s quite the problem some think it is. I’m not saying many aren’t having issues, I’m only saying many have no issues, they just aren’t complaining about it because they’re using the simulator. Where 2024 is now compared to 2020, I’d say it’s a huge mistake not developing the 757 for 2024, as it doesn’t sound like it’s on the verge of being released or anything. I bet 2024 will be at 98% within a couple months. People who are struggling with the server end, give it more than a week, the simulator is really good, and the new physics make the Fenix feel so much better than 2020. By the time you release the 757, I’d bet my right legs the masses will be on 2024. If many are having great performance with it after a week, imagine what a month or so will be like. I’m guessing the folks not having any luck with 2024 are geographically unlucky for this release, that’s going to get fixed.

Thanks for your input. Appreciate the conversation. Let me address a few of your points. First, we understand why it is cloud based. My argument is to not force people to run it while only connected to the internet. That is a mistake. But MSFS have said you will have the ability to download the planes and scenery so that should alleviate some of the load on their servers. But an offline mode is needed. I stand by that. And I don't mean offline by having all of the MSFS data on your computer. We know that is not possible. Second, I disagree that FS2020 was in worse shape a week after launch. Sure it had it's bugs but it was nothing like this. FS2020 was in alpha / beta testing for over a year before release. This on the other hand seem like it was rushed out before year end....otherwise they would have to rebrand it as FS2025. That's just my guess though. Third, We never said the 757 won't we released for FS2024. We're just going to wait. Whether or not the masses will be on FS2024 by then it's up for debate. I certainly don't want you to lose your right leg :) I think it's going to take much longer than 6 months to fix some of these issues. But ultimately we NEED FS2024 to succeed so the sooner the better.
@joshuaspop8865Ай бұрын
@ makes sense. The good news is Fenix and iFly have their airplanes working well in 2024 already, so it must not be a huge chore. I can confirm the Fenix works great, just have to double-click buttons occasionally and Fenix is aware.

I gave up on a terrain simulator, and went to a flight simulator - it is a trade off, it isn't as nice to look at but... I can't deny, I massively prefer X-Plane 12 in terms of feel, performance, and - the whole thing is offline. It just works.

I aint buying FS2024 until I see 2 options. 1. Offline mode, I aint depending on a good internet connection that I cannot control to stream aircraft and scenery. 2. I see it has a good multiscreen sim pit setup being able to easily have more than 3 screens showing. I want to be able to view the correct positions in the cockpit but without having to show the aircraft frame if ppl dont need it.

@speedbird8326Ай бұрын
My honest opinion. It's utterly pathetic. So many bugs it will be a year before they get to them all. All the simps on the forums trying to make excuses for Asobo. I got a refund and then I switched to Game Pass for $1 for 14 days after which I will cancel Game Pass. And no, the servers aren't fixed. New reports today of blurry terrain and missing buildings and long load times.

My personal take: This launch was unacceptable but inevitable. The video game industry as a whole is to blame. There hasnt been a single AAA release in the last 4 years that has been polished and smooth on day 1 (except a few specific studios releasing specific games - Naughty Dog and Sony Santa Monica) Why? Costs continue to skyrocket but the end product is less polished, does not function as designed or advertised, and requires months of additional labor to correct. Since digital storefronts have anti-consumer refund policies, revenue is all but guaranteed with this business model. Once the accountants have an accurate figure for current cycle revenue, they can allocate capital to render enough fixes to make the lawyers happy - happy meaning what's the absolute minimum we can continue to allocate capital fix this product without incurring lawsuits? And yet his game will still hit some internal sales goals (because of those anti consumer storefront policies) and fhe Asobo team will get Christmas bonuses, Microsoft will earn some bonuses as well, stakeholders will still earn their returns all while the actual people who bought the game will still be sitting around waiting for their product to be fixed, maybe in a year or so. I mean, we can't blame corporate MBA executives for creating this system without blaming consumers themselves. Thousands pre-ordered this game. Thousands were prepared to exchange money for a product they had never laid eyes on for themselves. They only saw marketing footage and crafted material for it beforehand. Let me ask you this. Would you buy a product from Facebook marketplace sight unseen? Would you trust the pictures on the advertisement? Of course not!! Yet video games get a pass because its being sold by a bigger company? Make it make sense!!

I wholeheartedly agree with having offline capability in some form - obviously not everything of course. Most of us will have prime time to play when the snowstorms hit and we’re on generator power with no internet. DCS at least gives 3 days to play whatever we have downloaded before a brief internet check is needed.

People were complaining that MSFS was so bloated with all the 3rd party stuff in the community folder that people did not have the hard drive space to store the game. I can see why they went to the cloud. But, its like whack a mole, solve one issue and several more pop up. I think going cloud based is them looking towards the future of gaming and not looking at the past.

From devsupport forum: “My Library” will allow to download an aircraft (or any other package) locally to avoid having to stream it. I am not 100% sure on the ETA but I think it should be before Christmas. Of course we initially planned to have this option available for launch but didn’t manage to achieve it - apologies for the inconvenience. Best regards, Eric / Asobo spread the news about this cloud nonsesne the option will be here in a month

Thank you for the informative video. Good to hear about the flightmodel improvements which are in MSFS2024. It goes beyond saying I’m totally in favor for the option to be above to download a least a part of the simulator offline. I have a strong feeling MS/Asobo have underestimated the effects of making the simulator so completely dependent on the cloud. It should (must) be possible to have an offline mode, for at least a region. Most people don’t fly all over the world but focus on a certain region, at least for some time..

I agree 100 %, Microsoft are now discriminating against me because I'm limited to low internet speed, I was so looking forward to this evolution didn't realise I would be asking for a refund on day three of release. I think that Microsoft will be resistant to making more content downloadable but in the end will have no choice as problems and negativity will persist.

Cloud dependency with no offline mode is a killer. I think this is what MS/Asobo intended to do all along to satisfy the vast gamers market.
