Thanks for your review. I just received one as a gift and would like to know if I could use the Ninja to grind oats to a flour and to grind and/or chop nuts.
@sevenminutereviewsАй бұрын
Hi Lucianac. Yes, we use the Ninja for oats all the time. We use the large pitcher usually and combine rolled oats with almond flour for muffins or for pancakes. The smaller pitcher with the more typical blender blades works well for this also, and seems to make a finer flour than the larger pitcher and blades. Also, I have not tried to grind or chop nuts, but the nut butter did work quite well with the pitcher with the paddles. I would assume chopping nuts would work also, probably with the larger pitcher and blades.

Are you still using the Lor and how is it performing for you now?Thankyou!
@sevenminutereviewsАй бұрын
Hi Michael. We have been using it from time to time, when we want to make Nespresso coffee. We usually use our espresso machine, though. Interestingly enough, last week I accidentally tried to make a drink with the water tank completely empty, and the machine started making a weird noise. I then added water and tried running the machine again, but at that point it no longer was working. A few power cycles, unplug and replug in, but I was still unable to get it to work. Hope this info helps. I usually recommend buying from Amazon or Best Buy and getting extended warranties with coffee machines, especially espresso or Nespresso machines.

The sound the machine made when you changed the grind size in the beginning was the grinder purging a bit of coffee. Whenever you change the grind size while the portafilter is inserted in the grinder it purges to get rid of any coffee at the old grind size, so you should always empty the portafilter after adjusting before hitting the grind button. Or else you end up with a mix of grind sizes in the portafilter which can cause a less than ideal shot

@sevenminutereviews3 ай бұрын
Hi Scott. Yes, believe it or not, 50 minutes to an hour is a good time frame for these muffins. Being that they're made with oats and almond flour, they take longer to bake than when using regular flour.

You mention inconsistency, but to validate that claim, it would be helpful to check the weight of the ground after tapping to see if there’s actually any variation between shots.

Hi thank you, love the sharing! I'm also struggling between Lor, Nespresso and Breville. My no.1 need is a proper foam steam. (Bambino/Creasita) and my hubby needs an easy capusle. Creaista plus however got a very old and not user friendly panel for me when I check it out at showroom. With that price, I'm thinking a bambino + a great quality+ vaule capsule machine, such as lor. Would you have other capsule machine in mind that worth a try?
@sevenminutereviews5 ай бұрын
Hi Skwan. Thank you for your comment and questions. I completely understand where you’re coming from. Your situation isn’t too different from where we were in our home. My wife likes easy, capsule based machines. I prefer grinding from whole beans. You may want to look at two different, machines, such as one of the Breville machines and a separate capsule based machine. In this case, the Bambino Plus wouldn’t be a bad idea, along with either of the Nespresso machines or the L’Or. I don’t think you will notice much difference between any of the Nespresso machines or the L’Or. The L’Or gives more flexibility with larger coffee drinks. Even the Vertuo machines by Nespresso are ok in this case, but I don’t like their espresso as much as the original capsules. I mention the Bambino Plus because it has the automatic milk steaming, so you and your husband can do milk steaming easily, if he or you don’t want to do it manually. He can even use the Bambino Plus milk steaming to go with his capsule based coffee. The only issue here would be the lack of a grinder for whole beans, which would be another separate purchase. I wouldn’t recommend using pre-ground beans. Another option would be trying one of the Breville Impress machines, such as the Barista Touch Impress. We reviewed that one also, and it actually failed on us, but I believe we were overusing it for what it’s designed for. It may be better suited for you and your needs. It’s easy enough to use that my wife was happy with it and didn’t feel a need for a capsule based machine, and it gives you grinding and easy tamping as well as very good milk steaming/foaming. But either way, I would recommend getting an extended warranty, such as with Best Buy or even Amazon. I have found both to stand by their warranty well.

my oracle touch does the milk beautifully, but the grinder is another story the grinder on my machine is absolutely awful so awful that I have now purchased a separate grinder and my machine is only a month old, it goes from too coarse to too fine at the turn of just a setting, get the grind right and the coffee it makes is really nice, all in all I am really disappointed that I have had to resort to paying out for a decent grinder to get a decent cup of coffee every time, especially as this machine is really expensive .

Is it possible to make ice cream with this blender??
@sevenminutereviews5 ай бұрын
Ice cream is not one of the settings on this blender. I was not aware of a way to make ice cream with it. But, after your question I did a google search and I did find a generic way to make ice cream in a blender. It also mentioned scraping the sides of the blender intermittently, so the smoothie bowl maker (the pitcher with the paddles) would probably be helpful with that. Hope this helps and thanks for supporting our channel.

Regarding the nut butter, I did exactly as you, but I used raw nuts, it did not work, they did not transform into a creamy paste, and they stayed glued to the interior surface, the knob did not help out at all, and after 45 seconds, smoke came out of it. So I stopped immediately. I will retry one last time, but using this time Costco roasted nuts, just as you did. Hopefully I will get the same result! Great vid by the way. Thx.
@sevenminutereviews6 ай бұрын
Hi lfguyj. Sorry to hear you’re having some difficulty. I use the spread setting, and I would recommend roasted nuts. Raw nuts (not sure if you tried with raw or roasted) won’t work very well. Also, I’ve found the paddles that turn with the knob are only effective if the pitcher is filled enough. This part may take a bit of trial and error. You don’t want the pitcher completely full, but do want it about 2/3 full so that the paddles can make contact with the nuts in order to properly mix around the ingredients. Ninja does recommend using about two tablespoons of canola oil and about 1.5 cups of almonds (almonds are a little more dry for example than peanuts or other nuts) on one of their recipe guides, though I’ve found that it does work without any additional oil as well, as it did in the video. I personally don’t like the idea of added oil, but it’s something that would help if you’d like to try that as well. Once you get a better feel for it I’m sure you will have better success with different types of nuts. I hope some of this helps. Please keep us all updated. Thanks for your kind comments and thanks for your support.

@@sevenminutereviews i gave it another shot, so I got the roasted mixed nuts from Costco and it worked like a charm, just like in your vid. Thank you. the power paddle is a pain to clean coz butter gets stuck on the paddles and there is very little room between the paddle and the bowl, so a sponge won't work.

When this machine works, it's awesome. Mine is two months old and stopped working today. I've done every troubleshooting thing under the sun and nada. Breville has no customer service on weekends. I'm beyond disappointed and angry. It's not pulling any water into the machine at all.

Replacement machine was working fine this week and now it's not. I'm getting no water flowing through even on a blind shot. It's just pooling up in the portafilter. I pull a blind shot to clean after brewing and again before I brew a new shot. I have begun to really, really hate this machine.

Yeah... maybe throw the drip stop switch before opening up and discarding the grounds. That's what it's for and, you'll no longer be annoyed. The only time the drip stop should be deactive is when you're brewing.
