6 years later and optical flow is still really bad. I've had TVs that applied smooth motion since 2011 (and even some older top of the line CRT TVs from 2005), giving the "soap opera effect" applying 60 fps optical flow to TV broadcast signal or 24fps input, that over the years have been improved to a lever where you can't see imperfections on the past 3-4 years TV models. Yet, an expensive tool like photoshop that isn't doing real-time conversion, on a multicore cpu is taking a whole lot longer to render a video and spit out a monstrosity with artifacts that make it unwatchable. I don't get how Adobe can do such a lousy job applying an optical flow that in Premiere 2025 version looks worse than my 2011 TV's motion flow filter. I rendered a 12fps video on Blender to save time, stretched the video to take double that time and applied optical flow to look like a 24fps video, or even 60 fps, and just like the hand you showed, there are a ton of artifacts in my video, from background blending to actors, window frames blending in random spots, any panning motion that involves vertical lines gets artifacts and the result is worse than a psychedelic video from the 60s with digital artifacts and broken graphics.

Love love the beginner vids and showing us how to maneuver through and helping us with the new stuff Adobe is adding.

Wow! totally fixed my premiere lol Not even on a laptop just my normal desktop no speakers changed. Playback stopped working both spacebar and play via the monitor window. Changed my audio off my default speakers, it popped a warning hit no to that and now it works! Premiere is so broken 🤣

Thanks for the tips Colin. Super useful as all your videos are. All these little settings and work-arounds and jumping all around the interface to go into hidden menus to get the VO functionality to just work like it should by default is a joke. Adobe needs to do better. I'm a lifelong Adobe user and they do some great things and I rely on a number of their apps daily. But this VO experience with all the gotchas and no centralized panel to handle all the needs is just mind boggling-ly lacking. Sigh. Hopefully someone at Adobe will see the absurdity of unnecessary hoops users have to jump through to get a functional VO going. Thanks again for the excellent tutorial and saving me a ton of hair pulling and screaming to get this to work properly.

I remember when everyone lost their minds over Adobe Enhance. I didn't like it but, I'm a Radio Personality and Voice Actor. It was digital sounding and thin. TODAY HOWEVER, they've done SOMETHING perhaps a better A.I.? I don't know but, it works GREAT!

Can you do a video of your preset setup for all your assets for your show, And how you can reuse as a template. cheers
@GregPrickril10 күн бұрын
Instead of templates, I usually have one project with multiple sequences, e.g., for short social media posts. I find it convenient but am wondering if I'm setting myself up for eventual heartache. I can imagine it would be a downer if the project file got corrupt. What else?
@GregPrickril10 күн бұрын
Never sat well with me that drag and drop is supported but advised against. If it doesn't work, don't make it available. Ther's no reason it couldn't be as reliable as other approaches. BTW, I use it all the time but my needs are meager.

It'd be great if you could make a video on creating and saving a template that you spoke about. This would be great if we were editing podcasts which pretty much use the same channel introductions, project settings etc.

The real question that needs to be answered is.... as a KZbin viewer -- NOT a creator -- who casually watches all sorts of videos from a variety of posters, why in God's holy name does KZbin randomly lower the volume on anything I watch. This will go on for weeks, mysteriously stop for weeks, reappear for weeks, and so on. The option for Stable Volume is, stupidly, greyed out. So how, as a casual viewer/listener of all things KZbin do we keep this sh*t from happening at all?

This is all great stuff, thanks Colin !!! As far as the Effects Control panel, I believe that removing it entirely can be done, but it should be done in baby steps. If they remove it entirely all at once, I am afraid lots people will be very confused (me, for once 😀) I am not sure i like the idea of doing all that directly on the timeline, but who knows. The only thing I am almost sure is that if that's the way Adobe wants to go, the should do it gradually. Even better, if that makes any sense and is technically doable, leave both options.

This is so much faster, this is awesome, the effect controls UI has always been a bit painful to use, changes like this make me want to edit again

Can you please do something where subscribers can submit their edited video and you can see what they can improve and do tutorials on how they can improve?
@carlmov116 күн бұрын
Thank you Colin. I posted few comments on another channel, and lo & behold already few people decided to quit Adobe (reacting to my comment post only). Well, these updates are not that effective; we could do that already with the previous versions, they don't add much up. However, Adobe should have updated the transcribe section to include more languages, enhance the color panel, add a dropdown button for preset metadata preference, and much more. Also, all these features people can get in Capcut, DaVinci, InVideo, ALL FOR FREE. As I mentioned elsewhere, in 2 years max, Adobe will lose 50% of their subscribers.
