Would a severe niacin deficiency, like having pellagra cause someone to have very fragile, weak and thin connective tissue. Like ligament and tendon?

Dr. SInclare, honestly speaking to me you have aged backwards. Looking alot younger than you were a few years back. I admire all you are doing, and am excited to supplementing supplements into my diet. Keep up the excellent good work. Blessings 10 years backwards

Thank you for all this info. I've been fighting high cholesterol for decades. I've tried all the supplements known for better chol numbers, and they have not worked as well as caused digestive stress. Most statins cause muscle problems. Rosuvastatin is the best tolerated. But I worry about my mental health because I already have focus issues, with dementia in my family. I ate raw vegan for 2 years. I still had high cholesterol. Presently, my total cholesterol is over 250 with high proteins as well. I eat veggies, fruit, and fish on occasion. No dairy. Brain and heart support vit./supplements. I also tend to get palpitations (arrhythmias) from the longevity supplements. Seems I just can't win. But I keep trying things.

What about whole grains, nuts and seeds? I'd suggest you could read M. Greger's book - How not to die. Might be helpful.

@@ZmogusJaponija Well, yes I eat plenty of grains, seeds and nuts. I'm actually in very good shape for my age. I just have high cholesterol numbers, and medicate for hypothyroidism. I've been told by drs my organs run like a 20 year old.

I have a question. You said in one of your videos that mtor senses low protein level in cells and then recycled the old protein. Therefore a low protein diet can trigger autophagy. But Indian diets are inherently low in protein. And there are all sort of nutritional deficiencies in the population. What do you have to say about that?
@ZmogusJaponija
@ZmogusJaponija 3 ай бұрын
Yes, but autophagy won't help if people eating a) unhealthy food or b) low nutrition value food instead of protein. So you cannot eat for example pasta once per day and then trust the authopagy process to fix all the problems which comes out of it. So D. Sinclair and some other nutrition scientists are recommending to eat moderate protein diet, preferably from plant sources + resistance training, so you keep muscle mass as you old. And then switch off mTOR and swich on autophagy with looong fasting window (Sinclair eats once a day himself). Hope that hepls.

Starting in your 70s or 80s will net even greater results cause it’s needed most then. Your Information theory applies to all ages, the backup copy is still there. Don’t limit your own research work and don’t discourage people please. Many people are 70 or 80 at this time. Democratizing includes the Aging too, isn’t that what you’re all about?

He does, everyone knows elderly should take a bit more protein. But this frailty in elderly thing is much more complex then protein, since that age frame has severe hormonal issues and both cultural and cronic pain conditions that lead to extreme sedentarism as huge factors for their sarcopenia.
