Historically, the United States of America built up after killing an uncountable number of native Americans by white-skinned poor Europeans using guns and stealing the vast continents from California to Florida without payment of even one dollar. For 100 years, Europeans killed 56,000,000 native American families and stole the big land. During the Second World War, Tokyo was attacked by a total number of B29 4,900 and 130 times dropped an uncountable number of bombs over the heads of Japanese babies, children, and women just before the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombings. The USA was attacked by airplane suicide only on 9/11 2001 and until today, American people every day every time talking many times about it exaggeratedly. Anyway, the US people historically do not take care to kill civilians, especially babies and children using guns because the US itself consists of a gun society. Japan was built by the first emperor Jinmu 2,683 years ago. The USA was built 247 years ago after the slaughter of native American people without payment of even one dollar. The number of people killed by guns in the USA in 2022 is 48,117(Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center for Health Statistics) The number of people killed by guns in Japan in 2022 is 4 (Japanese Government Statistics Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications

It's a heartbreaking masterpiece. The music, the picture, the rythm... are wonderful, the story behind all of it is absolutly heartbreaking. It's, with Mononoke, my favourite Studio Ghibli movie.

Many feel that the aunt abused these siblings. However, it should be noted that this is the historical context of the piece. At the time, food was not easily available and people did not know when they would be bombed. This aunt had to support several of her own children. She also had to take care of Kanta and Setsuko, which added to her troubles. Kanta was always with young Setsuko and did not help her aunt and her family. During the day, the aunt had to work at the community association, and Setsuko's nightly crying severely disturbed the aunt and her family's bedtime. So it is hard to say that my aunt and her family were not evil. Many Japanese citizens did not have the mental and physical capacity. What is frightening is that what happened to Kanta and Setsuko was not unusual at the time. In the scene at the beginning of the film, it was common for many war orphans, including Kanta, to starve to death at the train station. This continued for some time after the war.

I am a Japanese in my fifties. When I was in primary and junior high school, war was only taught as history. Amd the only teaching materials available at the time were black-and-white photographs and VHS videos that the Japanese government had finally disclosed. Nowadays, I am amazed at these animations and the colour recordings that the US had, digitally processed images and the fact that I feel much closer to the war than I did back then. And what I remember most as a child is that the survivors and their families in Hiroshima almost never opened their mouths at all in the documentary on the war that NHK always reports on every August. Even then, the wounds were too deep, I now know. At the time, many people from Hiroshima and Nagasaki who were exposed to radiation, and many of their families were also denied marriage. So those who felt for their families could hardly have made them suffer by exposing them on television to the fact that they had been exposed to radiation, in addition to what they had suffered.I am proud as a fellow citizen that the Japanese are so good at animation and portray war from such a universal and objective perspective. There is truth in the way they portray it, not blaming that 'aunt'. Because I probably would have been like that.

I find the English dub less emotional than the original, everytime I hear Setsuko speak it's so obviously an adult doing a baby voice that I cringe, especially during the crying scenes.

Best anti-war movie ever. What makes it so tragic was that this is based off true events The real "Seita" wrote a short story as a way to help cope with his feelings over the situation and change a few parts of the story. But most of it was true. And the ending of the story was EXACTLY how it happened in real life (including all of the dialogue.)

China and South Korea describe the film as "a story about Japan, a war criminal nation, beautifying their war." However, this is a true story modeled on a younger sister who died of starvation during the war of the original author "AKIYUKI NOSAKA". I can't forgive it. China and South Korea are the worst now. This story is based on the real experience of the original author. It is the story of the younger sister of the original author, Akiyuki Nosaka. His sister starves to death during the war as well, although it's not exactly the same as the anime. Chinese and Koreans who have seen this film say that Japan is glorifying the war and trying to hide its own wrongdoings. They are a people who have been brainwashed by anti-Japaneseism that always writes such things, so please do not deal with them. What is pictured here is an ordinary citizen of Japan. It simply depicts the grief of unwar-related civilians who suffer from government-initiated wars. It should be the same in any country. However, whenever this movie appears on KZbin, Chinese and Koreans always criticize it as a deception of Japanese militarism. They don't try to understand the true sorrow of war, they just try to demean Japan. I can still understand the criticism of the Chinese, but I do not understand why the Koreans continue to criticize Japan. Japan and South Korea are generally not at war. There was a period of rule by Japan for legitimate development of Korea. The South Korean government has labeled it an invasion, brainwashed the people, and is still holding a grudge against it and criticizing it persistently. Without this governance, there would be no development of Korea today. Even though they have nothing to do with World War II, they still act like war victims and accuse Japan of being an aggressor. I don't understand. stupid people. When Koreans go out into the world, they only speak ill of Japan. Japanese people are in a lot of trouble. To the people of the world, Please don't believe what they say. Everything they say is a fabricated history that suits the Korean government. Sadly, the Korean public believes that bullshit history to be true.

he described aunt a distant relative. in Japanese language, ‘aunt’ could be anyone in your family who is fairly older than you, or anyone who’s not even blood-related who shares a same community. in the original novel, she’s described as ‘mother’s cousin’s wife’s sister’ and they had never seen each other until they lost their home. clearly there’s a difference in the class and financial situation between the two families. Aunt doesn’t have a room to share when there’s no enough food for everyone. her act can’t be justified, but in the war time anyone could be like her, that’s my take. loved your honest reaction!

5:25 - I'd actually like to point out so you don't get blindsided by Todoroki's overpowerdness.... Shoji (the guy with multiple arms) excels at recon; he was able to pinpoint where Ojiro and Hagakure were from the entrance. While it's not a big flashy quirk, quirks like Shoji's are particularly good for covert actions and teamwork. Gotta remember stuff like this, since a qurik like Todoroki's could very easily injure or kill someone, it gives the more power-based quirk users an advantage when working together to minimise potential damage and injury.

6:48 - I think this gets glossed over a lot, but this explains a good chunk about Bakugo's behaviour. He's been told that he's amazing and has a quirk suited to a hero since he was a toddler. So, not only has this inflated his confidence and pride, but he'd also feel a sense of expectation to meet societal standards based on how others respond to and percieve him. Too much positive reinforcement isn't always a good thing. Not exactly the same vein, but if you compare it to adults making an excuse to not set boundaries with children; I'm autistic and I've got 6 other cousins all diagnosed with it. Out of all of us only one of them was an absolute demon child; he got diagnosed early and my aunt let him get away with things he shouldn't have, essentially giving him positive reinforcement for shitty behaviour. He's still a bit of a brat as an adult but we've all kind of realised what he was doing and decided not to put up with it.

To preface this: MHA is not for kids. It's bright and colourful but most of it is rated in the UK 15+; The manga itself has graduated to Older teen rating here too. Some of it is a point of contention between the animation studio and the manga readers but I personally appreciate how bright and colourful yet how deep and dark it can get despite how it appears on the surface. Also, expect lots of bone breaking. Recovery Girl being the real MVP lol

Deku and Bakugo's relationship is.... complicated. A lot of people give Bakugo a hard time because of his behaviour but still, he's a very important character overall and is far more complicated than the angy boom boom boi persona on the surface. It's a slow burn but it's so worth it. An easy way to remember Bakugo's name is by his quirk. His name can loosely be translated to explosive victory, bakuhatsu (explosion) = Bakugo.

Glasses guy’s name is Tenya iida(spelling it all lowercase because people mistake a capital i for an L), and iida is pronounced “eeda” and is what he is called by most of the time rather than his first name. Now that you’re watching dub, I’m sure you’ll hear the pronunciation from the show though- great reaction, I’m really enjoying your journey so far 😊

The homeroom teacher Aizawa does not know Deku got his power from All Might. As far as Eraser Head knows Deku got his quirk in kindergarten and still can't use it without breaking his bones. Eraser Head is a lurks on the rooftops at night type hero so that is why he is always taking a nap, being awake before 7pm is not his normal schedule. The "villain points" from the entrance test were based on the scores of the robots you beat 1pt, 2pt, 3pt add up the total values of each robot and that is your score. Bakugo beat up 77pts worth of robots and Uraraka the cute girl that floats things got 45. The serious kid with glasses and engines in his legs is first name Tenya (only his family will call him that for 3 seasons) last name Iida- capital I as in India lowercase i as in India. Many reactors read the subtitles and think his name starts with capitol L as in Lima.

Hi Varjokissa, It can be a little off-putting sometimes when the sub and dub do not match however we would like to keep them on. The reason for this being; When one of us is speaking it is hard to concentrate on listening to two things being said at once, the subtitles (even though not 100% accurate) help us stay on track with what is being said so we don't miss anything. Also thank you for your question, we download the show from Kayoanime. If you have any suggestions where we can watch this show for free without subscriptions please do not hesitate to let us know!! -Klaudia

The old guy who was talking about erasing all of the evidence got the costume and mask for Lelouch. He mentioned that he had 'the best in the business' working on it and a 'slide system' that was the retractable piece that allowed Lelouch to use his power while wearing the mask. The point was that Jeremiah was framing Suzaku and faking all the evidence, including the fingerprints. He never had any intentions of finding the real killer because he believed they would never find the actual culprit. So instead he made Suzaku into a scapegoat to make the government look more effective in 'catching' the killer so quickly and so avoid causing panic when the public learned Clovis had been killed, to advance his own political career and essentially take over Area 11 with the popular support he'd get from 'catching' the killer, and to further his anti-Japanese political agenda by putting all the blame on a famous Japnese person like Suzaku, the son of the last Japanese Prime Minister.

Just a note about Midoriya (Deku)'s way of referring to Bakugo.... Kacchan is like a shortening of 'Katsuki-chan' which is like a really cute child-like nickname, which was fine when they were literally really small but it's stuck around. And for the record Bakugo's full name is Bakugo Katsuki.
