Is not fresh water the same as city water????
@ateamrventures
@ateamrventures 3 ай бұрын
In RV terms, "fresh water" tank is for areas like "boondocking", (fill up anywhere) where there is no availability and connection to a "city water" spigot (constantly connected to your RV for water). Fresh water also requires the water pump to be on, as well.

Is hooking up the city water and turning on the water heater just to make sure the heater is working?
@ateamrventures
@ateamrventures 3 ай бұрын
Yes. It's up to you if you want to do this part or not, but it's simulating being at a campsite with water hookups for the RV. Turning on the water heater is just testing to see that there are no water heater issues (better to repair at home, then on the road, if there is an issue).

Very helpful! I am de-winterizing for the first time and was very nervous about the process. This really helps with the worry because it is so straight forward. Thank you for taking the time to make it!

At the very end, you opened and drained the gray water tank of any anti-freeze. Why didn't you drain the black water tank as well? There was anti-freeze in it from clearing the toilet.
@ateamrventures
@ateamrventures 9 ай бұрын
You can if you want. There is MUCH MORE anti-freeze from clearing sinks, showers, etc., than the minimum amount from the toilet. For me, it wasn't worth it.

Thanks, I don't think you showed low end drain points being closed before pumping in antifreeze? End up with antifreeze on the ground
@ateamrventures
@ateamrventures 9 ай бұрын
No, that's a good point. I didn't show the other tanks being closed either, but it's assumed, if you open it, close it (to drain it).

Nice job and very helpful! One question. The last thing I did after pulling antifreeze through to all of the faucets, etc, was to open the low-end points drain valves. You didn't mention those in your list. Was that the correct thing to do? Seemed necessary to me.
@ateamrventures
@ateamrventures 10 ай бұрын
Thanks! I could see your point, but I have not needed to do this (as a last step), since air pushed out water earlier. It's up to you, if you want. There would not be any harm in doing this for peace of mind.

Very helpful video i own a 26bd camper gray wolf i have a question on ur particular camper in the middle of the night when u use the bathroom the pump under ur bed dont make a hell of noise cuz my dose and mine is on the very end of the camper
@ateamrventures
@ateamrventures 10 ай бұрын
No. I have not noticed it, when water pump is on. I'm assuming you're not connected to city water, if the pump is involved when you're using the water.

This was fantastic. I’m a solo camper and this is my rookie season… I did it!!! But I aware you didn’t say to close the low points after draining them. Hahaha (figured it out though after my 2nd gallon emptied) 😢 but thank you so much! I’m winterized!!

Did you reopen the water heater tank after putting antifreeze into the lines?
@ateamrventures
@ateamrventures 9 ай бұрын
No. It needs to stay closed while winterized (always bypassed). Only water goes in water heater -- never anti-freeze.

Since everyone's situation is different (e.g. RV, camping time, etc.), look up and apply it to your needs. For example: www.google.com/search?q=when+is+rv+water+drinkable+after+dewinterizing&rlz=1C1UEAD_enUS1029US1029&oq=when+is+rv+water+drinkable+after+dewin&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqBwgBECEYoAEyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQIRigATIHCAIQIRigAdIBCjE3Mzc4ajFqMTWoAgCwAgA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

RV anti-freeze is non-toxic for this reason, just rinse the system with fresh water thoroughly in the spring.

So I just went through all the steps, but when I got to the antifreeze step, I was only able to pull antifreeze through the shower and the water heater outlet. No antifreeze came out of the sink faucet and none in the toilet. Water pump was on and running. I used 2, 1-gal jugs of RV marine antifreeze. Any suggestions?

Interesting. Wherever locations (e.g. bathroom, shower, etc.) that water was flowing through, should flow anti-freeze, as well. I assume you're winterizing a WolfPup 17JG, too?

Nice video! We just bought a 2022 Wolf Pup 14CC, and this one has a Furrion tankless water heater instead. Unfortunately, Forest River's manuals didn't catch up, so ours doesn't have the bypass valves for the water heater and they don't have a procedure. The Furrion manual says blowing it out or running antifreeze through it are OK. Forest River's support is clueless on what to do. I'm assuming it would be a similar procedure, except for running the antifreeze through it. I gather some folks have tried blowing them out, but parts of the tankless water heaters still hold water and they can be damaged.

@ateamrventures
@ateamrventures Жыл бұрын
Cool, glad it helped. For antifreeze amount, it depends on how much you run through your faucets, (etc.) for a solid stream of a/v. I don't run a whole lot, since the air did most of the clearing of the lines.
