I got my 1.8l to do 121 and it was shaking to bits. I revved the bollocks out of it and it only just managed it to 121mph. How this is possible in a 1.6l I don't see it. He's got a bigger engine in it than that. The instrument cluster doesn't even match the 1.6 or 1.8 model. They were used on the 2.0l and above. I want to see the engine before I believe what he's telling me.

This one is a "Silver beauty" love it.

Is it reliable

I did 121mph in my 1.8l 1989. It was a rusted out shitbox but for what it was it could fly down the motorway for it's age at the time. I'll admit it, it scared the shit out of me.

@@garyaesthetics Yeah in stock form they are kinda slow but its ok. I really like my 2000 VVTi. Toyota reliability and economy combined with good looks and a solid ride. For the money its a really cool little car!

​@@ollijokinen1571Idk what you guys consider average if these 8 sec cars are slow? Lol the average 0-100 is around 10-12 sec , compared to the average that 8 sec time is actually pretty good especially with only 143 HP

@@davidkosiba624 I don't think the average car takes that long to 100 anymore. Hybrid drivetrains and lightning quick modern automatics give current cars pretty good acceleration. Also, the acceleration is high 8 seconds. I'm not sure you can get a stock 143hp Celica to 100 in exactly 8 secs haha

the 90 spec 2.0 sierra twin cam efi engine hits and 120mph in 4th gear and 130mph in 5th in good Standard state of tune and 135 -140 with exhaust / filter / cams / superchip and the 2.9 v6 4x4s were the same top speed 135 ish never had more than that and had 3 4x4s in the past

it could need like a standard check/tune on the rollers

And i remember that we drove behind him with 200 kmh. And we had to pul up the gas paddle because he didn’t go any faster than 180 190 kmh. Later at a gas station we asked him if he gave everything he said yes. I expected more from the 1990 2.0 Sierra. He couldn’t keep up with 2 mazda 626’s. A 1991 and a 1994 both also 2.0

@@jdnrotterdam2150 i had a petrol transit van with the 2.3- 16v version of the 2.0 sierra dohc engine that was 150bhp and was good for 110mph

i now have a transit connect 1.5 deisel 120 bhp 200ftbs and does 120 fully loaded pretty easy ford says 136mp top speed and i rekon would do it empty down hill lol
