Nice looking hay, when its all green like that,is the best time to cut it. And thats the part of doing agriculture, putting up quality feed for animals is more important then hanging out with friends, unless they help you. But have you folks tried raiding the shoot out back of the discbine, so the rows are raider? Cuz either way nine times out of ten you end up raking it inerways. Inerways nice looking landscape ❤.

This is a awesome set-up. Im making something similar. Anyway to see that swing gate hinge and latch better. Im doing that collar over the pipe to make hinges. Did you guys use some kind of bearing for the collar to set on to make it swing easier. Thank you again very nice setup 👌

I have a question for you, what is the material you used to make the panels "solid" in your alley? I love the idea and want to do something similar.
@rollagranchers2604 Жыл бұрын
We use plywood for the gate and the green part is actually banner vinyl zip tied on.

Delivered some hay today and the house wife ask if it was first or second cutting. I said definitely the first cut. Last time it was cut was like 15 years ago. Of course she really didn't know what she was buying. It was blue stem hay in the pasture that cows graze on year after year. Cows are so fat they basically eat and spend most of their time in the shade of the trees. They do not over graze these fields and because of the drought was allowed to be cut for hay and sold so people could have hay.I use one of those cutters to but it is broken and we have parts to fix it in a couple days.

I used one of these back in the early '80s, can't remember if it was an 800 but that seems about right. Mostly hay silage but a little bit of maize as well. Seemed like big equipment back then but just toys now compared to the latest big gear
@rollagranchers26042 жыл бұрын
For the small amount that we do it worked perfectly. You definitely learn how to repair when you run older equipment. We upgraded to a JD chopper for this year. Hopefully the Gehl can be resurrected and used as a backup.

What's a Pre Marten?
@rollagranchers26042 жыл бұрын
A freemartin is a female calf that is born with a bull calf. They share hormones in the uterus that usually cause under developed reproductive organs or are infertile. I did have this heifer vet checked and he confirmed that even though she appeared to have normal anatomy on her outside she only had one ovary.
