Custom Chopping with John Deere 7800 Forage Harvester and 8 Row Kemper Header

Heres a video of Dunham Farms chopping our corn with a John Deere 7800 Forage Harvester and 8 Row Kemper Header after our chopper broke down. Watch as they fill truck after truck and bring it back to our silage pile where a JD 8430 waits to push it out with a dozer blade and pack it.

We have around 90 cow calf pairs and planted I believe 36 acres of corn this year. We are pretty happy with this years crop considering we didn’t get any rain all summer.

G'day, that made light work of that, good job. I used to use contractors (custom) crews till one stuffed me about so i went out and purchased my own gear. I wrap my silage too, easier to handle and store. Forgot, if we use contractors we claim the cost back on tax except for the fuel, does it work the same way over there?.

It’s 100% write off on taxes. Hopefully we will be able to fix our chopper or upgrade this year.
