I’m definitely going to make this block. Challenge accepted. I need one more block to complete my son’s lap quilt. He loves Star blocks like his mother. Thanks Susan for sharing 👍❤️🙂

It is a lot of pieces, but as expected, you explained the construction of the block with simplicity. Thank you!

This is a little tricky on those center outside points. It is a beautiful block. This is another great way to use up a lot of scraps (if you don't mind making all your blocks just a little bit different). I still love seeing that beautiful old Singer. Those old sewing machines were art. Thank you for the free pattern and instructional video.

Hi Susan, I just finished piecing this block. I certainly did it up differently, the background is dark gray, the green is a blue, and the yellow is a light gray. I love the finished look. I made it darker because my son prefers the dark background. I never realize it was 15 inches block, until close to the end. I just assumed it was a 12” block. My second mistake was turning the end blocks on the second row the wrong way. Here I thought I was moving into the intermediate level, but. maybe I’m still bouncing around on the beginners. 😂

Love that color palate. Don't worry about making mistakes. I still make them quite often and I've been quilting for 50 years!

Oh wow, you have blown my mind. I am sewing on a 1946 Singer 20 that I love, and I am getting ready to quilt my second quilt but I think I might just order a darning foot for my Singer,. Get some practice under my belt with free motion (I have always wanted to do it) and give it a whirl. Thanks so much! I just googled "darning foot" for my Singer and what showed up were the Circle was parallel to the bed, not perpendicular like yours. Hmmmmmm.

This is a very nice block to put together. It would make a nice baby quilt or even a veterans quilt with red, white, and blue theme. And as always, Susan, you explained the construction of the block very well. I'm looking forward to your next video!

So cute and you said simple, so maybe this should be my next block. I just finished sewing your Salem block and I had more issues than I care to admit. The points need to be reworked a bit. Anyway your fabric choices are always so nice. Thanks Susan for sharing.👍❤️🙂

This was an easy pattern to draw into my pattern memo notes. The fabric used can jazz up the look with bright colors (or keep it cool and calm as you have done here). This pattern would be fun made out of all scraps. Thank you for another beautiful pattern to add to my choices for future work.

I can’t imagine the stress of having a house build. I’m going to check out the patterns for Prairie Meadows, I love Lori Holt fabrics designs. Thanks for sharing. 👍❤️🙂

Directional fabric can cause some challenges. However, all of yours are oriented correctly. I really don't care for square in square or flying geese/hst blocks that are not oriented correctly. (and I see many experienced quilters demonstrate blocks with this helter skelter positioning). They jar my eye so badly. It does take a little more planning. It's one of those quilty skill things that bears learning to develop both skill and confidence. You have lots of good block making resources here for beginner and experienced alike!
