What a voice! Gorgeous to boot. I adored him as a pre-teen and teenager. I had this album (among others). I would play this one over and over.❤❤❤🥰

Robert Goulet should have been cast opposite Barbra Streisand in the 1970 movie musical On a Clear Day You Can See Forever. He sang this song and he and this song soared.

That voice, that confident delivery, those eyes . . . He could make the worst written songs sound enchanting.

Why wasn't Goulet in the movie version instead of that POS Yves Montand??

This man is so super talented and I don't understand what happened later in his career. 🤔 He should have been a very great Broadway star with all of his singing and talent. He only appeared in just a few shows on broadway. What happened? He could/have/should been a legendary star like Angela Lansbury. He should have owned broadway.

It is different from the Glen Campbell version. Which is the original?

Yes, this is a different song written specifically for the TV show “In The Heat Of The Night”.

I wish he'd recorded that song he sang at the end of the episode he guest starred in on "In The Heat Of The Night." It's called "About A Mile." What a beautiful ballad.

Carol O’Connor wrote that song. It’s beautiful and I’ll admit I only watched that episode as a goof back in my 20’s when I worked at a mattress store. We’d get all excited when that episode came on and laugh at how corny it was but I loved that song.

I've always loved this tune, but could NEVER understand all the lyrics, even in the OBC recording. Goulet's enunciation, while singing at a breakneck tempo, is perfect. And NOW I got all the lyrics!

It was probably because the music of the 60s changed in direction so much. He could have been an even bigger star a decade before. Still, we’re lucky to have his voice at all.
