Notice there are TWO triggers on his Sharps (c. 2:43). This is what's called a "set" trigger, and when Quigley pulls the first one back, it "sets" the other for greater accuracy. Not something you see much in Western movies!

And when is the last time (before this clip) that you saw an OX team on film pulling a wagon?!

I believe that if Tom Selleck had been born 20 years earlier, he'd have made his name in TV Westerns and not as Thomas Sullivan Magnum.

I have almost never disliked a film if the soundtrack was terrific - tells you something about the aesthetics of the makers. Randomly decided to put this film on in the background while working, and my word such great score!

I actually think this series deserves historical attention for the genre. It is truly of exceptional quality, and part of that is of course the soundtrack. But even in every way, it is a highlight.

In Spain this movie was a huge success. My brother and I just dreamt to be and live like the beastmaster when older. I kind of did indeed because there is nothing that I love more in the world than being surrounded by animals.

Trevor Jones's soundtrack, TIMOTHY DALTON, and Leonor Varela's strong portrayal make this series a treasure. Sure, the acting is a little corny here and there but the overall FANTASY is glorious with the CHEMISTRY between the characters. Can I just say...Timothy Dalton as Cesear...wow. Loooove him in Jane Eyre as well. He's such a dream :D

It's pretty amazing what a differences this score makes. Without it, although Tom Selleck and Alan Rickman are great, QDU would be a very forgettable B movie. With it, it's an epic western.

At 3:05 I can hear Queen Maab pronouncing, "This is Merlin. He has come to save us".
