My favourite thing about out this series is her choice of verbs relating to her own personal cooking lexicon. Embarrassing the vegetables is my favourite! So much pompous fun!

You can tell Weir is trying not to laugh after the meltdown. 😂 For someone allergic to alcohol, Grant plays a great drunk.

I just discovered this show; it’s hilarious! The way Richard E was describing extra virgin olive oil as “tarts” and “hussies” 😂🤚

Now I can scarcely believe that teenage Me originally watched these as just funny little recipe clips. The undercurrents of class and sexuality playing out in the marriage are the true meat and potatoes of the thing of course.

Having seen only a minute of these two years ago, I needed a librarian’s help to come up with series title. When I said, “embarrassed vegetables” , she knew. Very professional keeping straight face - or might there be hours of outtakes?

I am a lip reader and I've been trying to figure out what Simon was comparing the golden color of the wine he was holding in a glass. I think it has to do with the color of urine but that's not the word he's saying. Does anyone know what the word he was using?

You probably don't watch enough cookery shows especially in the 80s and 90s to get the jokes and humour. There's a lot of references to cookery shows like Delia Smith, The Two Fat Ladies, Fanny Cradock, Rick Stein, Keith Floyd and Loyd Grossman. Also you probably didn't shop in Waitrose in the 80s, 90s and early 2000s like my grandparents did.

@Andrew Whitney I've done all that..lets take the middle class out of this sketch and believe me there are no jokes..the joke seems to be a lefty scriptwriter taking the mickey out of the Aga green wellie types.
