Golders Green ‘Secret garden’ is magical in every sense, the flowers, the quiet area, the pergola and the little pond. Hampstead Pergola is full of rundown splendour, and it's the perfect place for a tranquil wander, whatever the season may be. In spring, wisteria curls around the trellises, whilst a carpet of autumn leaves makes the place even more special. It was commissioned by Lord Leverhulme, who made his fortune selling soap. One summer’s eve in 1904, he decided that his nearby mansion needed an extravagant terrace, to host garden parties and lazy summer nights. So, being very rich, he decided to build it. Though beautiful, Hampstead Pergola suffered in the aftermath of Leverhulme’s death and the onset of World War II. By the time the City of London took it over in 1989, the place was almost falling apart. Resurrection is still underway, but in the faded glory of the pillars and arches, you’ll find a serenely beautiful spot with views aplenty. The Hill Garden and Pergola in Hampstead, created for the soap baron Lord Leverhulme at the turn of the 20th century, tops the list of the top London secret gardens. Hard to believe today, but the garden was made from soil dug up during the extension of the Northern Line to Hampstead! Today the atmosphere is of exquisite faded grandeur but the garden was once used as a setting for extravagant Edwardian garden parties. The Pergola Walk is at its best in late Spring when its paths and romantic pillars are draped with wisteria and flowering plants, but the garden is atmospheric at any time of the year.

Am fost de atâtea ori în Brașov dar următoarea dată voi lăsa mașină personală în parcare și voi vizita orașul cu autocarul etajat pentru a vedea toate transformările ( sunt foarte multe și interesante.❤

Cetățuia de pe Strajă, often known simply as Brașov's fortress, is a historic citadel located on a hill above the city. Built in the 16th century, this fortress was designed to provide surveillance and defense against invasions. „Cetățuia” or Brașov's fortress played a defensive role outside of the main medieval town (now the Old Town). Today, it offers a panoramic view of Brașov and serves as a popular spot for both history enthusiasts and nature lovers.

Biserica Neagră (în germană Die Schwarze Kirche) este biserica parohială a comunității evanghelice luterane din Brașov, situată în centrul municipiului Brașov. Clădirea gotică a fost parțial avariată în incendiul din 1689, când zidurile ei s-au înnegrit și a primit numele actual. Denumirea populară de după incendiu, „Biserica Neagră”, a fost acceptată oficial în secolul al XIX-lea. Biserica Neagră este unul dintre cele mai reprezentative monumente de arhitectură gotică din România, datând din secolele XIV-XV. Având o lungime de peste 89 de metri este considerată a fi a doua cea mai mare biserică din România, după Catedrala Mântuirii Neamului și cea mai mare construcție gotică din Europa de Sud-est. Datorită mărimii ei, când a fost finalizată a primit titlul de Cea mai mare biserică dintre Viena și Constantinopol.

The Black Church from Brasov is one of the most beautiful Gothic monuments in Romania. It also has the biggest mechanical organ in the country and the largest collection of Oriental carpets. One of its oldest pieces, the pulpit, dates from 1696. It’s decorated with the sculptures of Moses, the four Evangelists, and the representation of Agnus Dei. On the opposing wall, you will see the coat of arms of medieval Brasov. On the northern choir side, you can admire one of the oldest altars in Transylvania. The valuable 15th-century piece was brought here from the church in Feldioara. From the same period dates the mural painting of the Virgin Mary with Saint Catherine and Saint Barbara from the southern hall.

It’s a pretty cool castle with a rich history. The castle was built by Saxons in 1377 who were given the privilege by Louis I of Hungary. It is a national monument and landmark in Transylvania. This medieval fortress is often associated with the Dracula legend, though it has little actual connection to Vlad the Impaler. Over the centuries, it served various strategic and commercial purposes, including being a customs post. After the fall of communism in Romania, the castle was returned to the descendants of Princess Ileana in 2006. It is now managed as a private museum by her heirs.
