Missy’s floor chreography from the beginning of the year was more difficult as well as her tumbling. Really wish she kept that routine because that had such a higher score potential. She just lacked the endurance which she could have built.

This was the highest level WAG was ever at. Teams 3-6 had the capability of being in any ranking. Never again did we see a battle like this for a bronze medal. The closest we got to it was 1996 Atlanta when releastically any team in the top 5 could have gotten any medal.

In my professional opinion. Khrabrova - 9.700 Raikova - 9.800 Kartalova - 9.400 Vodentitcharova - 9.800 Dudeva - 9.800 Stoyanova- 9.800 The scores given were outrageous. This is why I have a hate/love relationship with Compulsories. They are so good at comparing gymnasts, but they are never scored correctly or fairly.

Yes, many of those scores were a little on the conservative side. And when you think about how close Bulgaria was to the bronze medal in the team competition, you really have to feel for them.

Sadly, IOC only dedicated 3 feeds for archive. One was the main feed, and then two were alternating by rotation between Two of 4 teams. so USA full rotation available are only FX, UB for both Compulsory and Optional. I bet somewhere they have the full event apparatus feeds, maybe one day it will be released to the public but who knows. Plus the feeds that I have are horrible quality. Shitty framerate, shitty sound, and shitty everything lol.

@mchur0014 күн бұрын
@@xxlistenxx2410 Her extension was wonderful and she took serious risk in her handstands. So many gymnasts tried going to full handstand and ended up falling. Dagmar's routine maybe wouldn't have been a 10.0 but the judges backed themselves into a corner when they threw Dorte a 9.950 before Dagmar.
@gk8916 күн бұрын
Her compulsories were probably the best of that era. Her and Nadia. However, I much prefer Natalia's compulsory floor routine over Nadia's. Nadia, as amazing as she was, had virtually zero expression and she didn't express the nuances of the music very well in my personal opinion. My second favourite compulsory floor routine from these Olympics might have been Sylvia Hindorff's. Although Sylvia was not a strong tumbler, her dance was stunning.

This was the reason she made event finals. Solely because of this Compulsory floor. Tourischeva easily should have been awarded a 9.95-10.0 for this marvelous compulsory routine.

I thought her optional floor routine was the most artistic floor routine of these Olympics. So I might say that she deserved her spot in the finals based on both her compulsory and optional routines.

Missy had 2 .1 deductions in her routine. The first was the precision/correction on her half turn on the high bar, the second was flat feet on the cast to stoop over the low bar back to high bar. 9.750 is accurate as the max score would have been 9.800

I was in attendance at Seoul. We all knew Ellen Berger was going to do anything and everything she could to keep the US, and Bulgaria off that podium. The US gave her room to do that… Rhonda was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Jackie Fie was furious after she saw the final results after Compulsories. Stayed a bit in the arena after Compulsories had finished to chat with friends I hadn’t seen since 87 Rotterdam, and we saw Jackie and Mike Jacki march together up to Ellen. Couldn’t hear what was said but it didn’t look so friendly…

when they had penaluty? after the team fianl or after the compulsories ?

@@MarketoromagnoloThe compulsories. Apparently, Madam Berger led a handpicked jury in the basement of the arena to take the .5 off.
@DesertStreams0026 күн бұрын
Madam Berger would have found any reason at all to take a deduction off the Americans total if it wasn’t Rhonda. She could have said Bill Strauss was hanging too close off the barrier when talking to Chelle Stack. Or the girls were warming up too close to the other team. Anything to make sure her team did not relinquish their third place standing. She would have found a way. And let’s remember as well… there was bad blood between Berger and Karolyi for years. The decision was personal and political. At the same time, it served notice that the US was becoming a contender. Although I highly doubt anyone on that competition floor could have predicted the change the world would go through during the next quadrennium.
@edsondejesusdasnevesjunior45396 күн бұрын
Pode-se notar que Bela Karoli recebeu uma notificação, logo após a apresentação de Phoebe Mills nas Paralelas Assimétricas, leu, dobrou e não deixou que as ginastas vissem. De fato, foi muito injusto essa penalização!
@mchur0016 күн бұрын
@@Marketoromagnolo After compulsories finished a .5 neutral deduction was taken from the team score due to alternate Rhonda Faehn removing the springboard and remaining on podium during the first routine of Kelly Garrison-Steves. This was against the rules and Berger took the deduction. Berger hated Bela because of his antics in 1984. He jumped the barrier in 1984 when Mary Lou won the AA. This was against the rules. Berger warned Bela she was going to take the deduction if he leaped over the barrier and he did it anyway. Berger approached Bela and said she would take the deduction from Mary lou (which would result in losing gold and any medal) and Bela dared her to take the deduction in front of an American crowd. She chose not to and instead got her revenge 4 years later. Ellen Berger was East German and the head of womens technical committee.
