Yeah this is it. Harrowing list when you lay it out like that. It drives me nuts that there are people who are quick to extend credit to him for "ending wasteful spending" or "restoring meritocracy" even if they find him otherwise objectionable. 1) he's not actually planning to do any of that and 2) you have to understand his executive orders in the context of who he is, who he surrounds himself with and what he says. This is an important exercise for all elected officials, but he's the easiest case study! If we can't even pass this simple test of literacy with him, I don't know how we hold on to a democracy (such as it is).

Clarence Thomas wants people, and indeed so-called colorblind conservatives do, to think that freedmen is a neutral term… On the same page he tells us freedmen has nothing to do with race (affirmative action case); he talks about the black Codes of the South. He wants us to believe that freedmen laws of 1866 and 1867 were passed without any considerations to race. Except he makes no sense of why FREED would be added before men w/ inalienable rights. His opinions on affirmative action and abortion are two of the greatest feats of mental gymnastics in legal history.

of course the Seattle judge’s injunction does not wash away the newfound fears across America. Indescribable the psychological toll that these years will bring..

Wow, commenting to boost the visibility of this channel because this is honestly one of the most insightful things I have heard about Trump and the era we live in. Especially with the rise of labor movements, it does seem we are experiencing echoes of that historical era. Hopefully we can get through it with less violence than last time, I don't think very many of even the most hard-right people want to see pinkertons an federal troops machine-gunning activists. (although I do admit that there are definitely some people who would gleefully cheer that on, I don't think their absolute numbers are as high as what it appears from online posting).

I already did. Clarence Thomas literally has dozens of opinions confirming Bouie’s words. Of course, he never brings up Loving v. Virginia because then he would show his own hypocrisy…. Clarence Thomas called upon the Court to reconsider all cases that were protected by the substantive due process clause within the 5th & 14th amendments.

On Joe Biden watch, two regional wars were started, Biden spent $4 trillion? on spent stimulus(forgot its name), IRA, infrastructure plan and that rocket everything to new levels of inflation! Woke ideology went to above and beyond to the insane limits! 3-4 million of illegal immigrants were in this country!😂
@Agent77X6 күн бұрын
Illegal immigrants, the 3-5 million that came in on the Southern Border that is 35% are criminals! U.S. exports has tariff on them since 1950s in the EU! China imposed tariff on U.S. goods. It is only fair to do the same too!😊

I think Trump yearns for the era of "The Great Game", when imperial powers bartered, traded, intrigued and saber rattled over other people's countries as if they were baseball cards. (not the homes of real people who might have the right of self determination)

Some reporters have been too loose with phrases like DEI. It makes it sound like it's all about post-George Floyd murder stuff. As Jamelle accurately points out, Trump and MAGA are ditching anti-discrimination policies that go back to LBJ.

Appreciate the emphasis on “high-status” labor in addition to high-paying labor; the social dynamics of right-wing politics so often get cloaked in ‘economic’ concerns that hide the fact that MAGA types just want to feel big and important

As men grow old and hit their midlife crisis, the insecure one want to have what they couldn't get in their youth but wanted so much. For some it's a car, a motorcycle, ... *For others, it's masculinity.* And among those who had it in their youth, the ones that were still insecure remain teenagers their whole life and become a parody of their younger selves (Joe Rogan wants to looker as his younger self but looks like a drunk uncle trying to imitate younger people's look).
