Hi, I have bought a set of PN RACING V4 ENCLOSED 64P CERAMIC BALL DIFFERENTIAL SET install to my new MR04. Must I change other parts to fit this new differential? Thanks

Yes. You will need to have a 64p pinion gear for your motor as well to mesh with the PN diff.

@sammybaka Thank you. But I am not sure which parts as the moment. Seems that I have bought it wrongly. Thought plug in, replace the original one and play. Hi, i have lost the plastic bushing spacer nut on the left rear wheel, may advise where to buy it? What is the size specification and whether can get a few aluminium ones as spares? Thanks
@sammybaka5 күн бұрын
Do you mean the thing that attaches to the rear left rim (from behind), or the plastic bushing that goes into the outside of the rim? For the latter, if you are using stock mr-03 diff, you can use a 2x6x2.5 bearing. If you are using an aftermarket diff, the axle radius is thicker (3x6x2.5).

I tried these inner tube dampers on 3 of my MR03 EVO's and for cars that run a taller body it worked phenomenally well to tame the front end when coupled with the short springs. I don't really sense the need yet on my MR04's.. perhaps if I start running RM or HM setup on the MR04's I might change my mind.. (?)

I was just searching for the DWS from Kyosho, so thank you for posting this!! I've noticed Kyosho is not what it once was. I remember building a Kyosho Optima as a kid, and it went together and drove beautifully with high quality parts. Having recently gotten back into RC I wanted to try my hand at a motorcycle and picked up the Kyosho HOR kit and what a horrible experience it was. Nothing fit properly and every step took an extra 15 to 20 minutes of sanding, filing, and fiddling just to make them mesh properly and look nice. Definitely not what I remember from Kyosho. Thanks again for posting this informational video

Hello, why did you change your wheelbase? knowing that the original AWD ma020 like the Subaru Impreza WRC 2008 are 94 mm (L) normally you don't need to change the wheelbase, it's more if you want to put a smaller body like 90 mm? I think I didn't understand something in your video. Have a good day
@sammybaka15 күн бұрын
With an ma-020, changing between 94 and 90 is pretty straightforward with parts in the box. Basically you need to change the spur gear (short ones for 90mm, and longer ones for 94mm), and move the rear pod forward/back. That's it. A few ma-020 models start with 98mm, but most are 90 or 94. Going from 90 to 98, or 94 to 98, is more involved and requires additional parts that must be purchased. I have a few other videos on wheelbase changes on the ma-020.

@sammybaka23 күн бұрын
Happy new year! For hardwood floor, AWD is better but RWD can kind of work too. MR-03/4 can work nice because of the extra weight with the AAA batteries. I recommend PN radial super soft rear and Kyosho 20 degree radial for the front. If you are using the stock LM motor pod (with the LM-length diff), then you won't be able to fit extra 14mm wide wheels in the body.

In the competition scene, the AWD class gets a lot of action and you are right that it's mostly BZ5 and SZ2, and I guess the new RTRC AWD belt car as well. I'd love to try those cars out but I don't have experience with them. In fact, I also have never put an AWD car on a track. From what I've read though, AWD cars take a different race line vs RWD; they enter and exit corners differently from RWD.

@sammybaka2 ай бұрын
Hi -- I haven't been to a track for a while, but previously I drove the GLR enough to be able to compare the experience vs a Reflex RX-28K and a GLR-GT with reflex parts. Regardless of the chassis, lexan is going to be a lot more agile vs a hard body. In general I feel the most consistent and relaxed with the GLR-GT, but the GLR comes pretty close too. I never got as smooth with the RX-28 myself, but it's probably just due to my lack of practice. By now though, GLR is pretty old so the community and part support is less common now.
