Same issue here. About to replace my second diverter. They have a new and improved one but apparently it only works in the new model which comes in nickel (mine is bronze). It wouldn’t be cost conducive for me to have to replace all my bathroom fixtures. They have been good about sending replacement valves. This time, to my surprise, they sent me two replacement valves. The lady mentioned on the phone they were getting low on inventory, so I guess they were trying to look out for American Standard should just issue a recall and give everyone refunds for such a poorly made product.

Why would you wire the fog lights to stay on when your low beams are on because there's no fog but then when you turn your high beams off your fog lights turn off. What's the point of that?

This idea was genius. I just modified my IBC tote as you suggested and it works perfectly. One suggestion, if you can get your hands on a plastic pallet for mounting the cutoff cage it will be rot resistant similar to the original IBC tote. Thank you so much for posting this video!

Hello! I have a focus mk3 2012 recently and I noticed that my front fog lights don't work... When I press the button to turn them on there is a "click" at the switch box but they don't turn on... The bulbs are fine... I wonder if is the same setting of the wires if the car had fog lamps installed at the factory, that is, would it be worth my effort to see if by chance one of the wires broke and that's why they don't work? In the past three years since we got ours, I've replaced about three of these pushbutton valves and whole unit from American Standard and our last pushbutton just failed, and I came across your video. E-mail just sent to American Standard asking them for a valve! And you're right, it should have worked like this to begin with. The next thing I need to figure out is how to unclog some of the shower head sprayers that have quit working.

Thank you! I have two of these and both have failed within 6 months of install. I am going to try your fix before I shell out any more $$ to American Standard.

My 2011 hasn't even got am oil pressure gauge on the dash, I have a slight oil leak I havent pinpointed yet but I think it's the oil sensor, I was dam near empty on oil and no warning lights came on, could have wrecked my engine.

Not too bad but you didn't show how to remove the wire connection or even the connection on the new sensor, 6 out of 10...

Thank you thank you thank you for your videos! Just this morning I went to #1 to refresh my memory to partially disassemble the diverter. I had seen another suggestion to spray the lube into the plate holes and that worked for me last time. Came back to see the complete disassembly and found this new replacement video. Sent an email to AS to ask for replacement (they are not open today) - hopefully they will send for free. If I don't hear back tomorrow I will call because I am tired of this 4-year struggle! Been taking a rainhead shower for a few days but prefer the lower one ("first world problems"). Thank you again!!!

Thanks for sharing this. My knob was also stuck and all I was getting was the shower. I used some of your method to pull off the knob, then used pliers to gently pull forward the valve. I replaced the knob and now I have the shower. This'll do for the time being.

I broke the valve pulling it out. This fixture is an overpriced piece of garbage.

Their solution was to reumburse me for the whole unit. Which is fine, but now I still don’t have a shower that fully works?! Thanks for taking one for the team, and risking marring yours to dissassemble. Website is totally out of both the push button and rotary style, so I have to tear mine apart to fix too.

Thanks for sharing the video, there is actually 3 inner o-rings that need lubrication. You can unscrew the white plastic cap to get easy access to the inner rod and o-rings.

on my third valve, what i can say american standard has been great, easy to follow this video and replace, have been dent numerous valves that continue to malfunction, that to this video and thank to american standard....
