They must of had that deep reduction for taking off? Back in the day we had a super liner that had it and if the load wasn’t coming it would lift the drivers side tire off the ground and liked to break the cross members behind the cab. That was only 75 ton though but in the soft ground. Brings back good memories seeing that train!

The Aussie made v8 Macks in the day were the go to trucks, from road trains to 200+ tons. A lot are still hauling or have retired them as collectable show trucks. That 175 tons is like pulling over 200 on dirt.

@andrewogilvy70544 ай бұрын
Well you wernt there champ so that makes you a key board warrior in this particular situation. I know those tippers had 30 ton of concreting gravel because I paid for it. But Bruce Rock tippers are large in area and that material had shaken flat after driving on the dirt all night. I also hired that roller so you tell me what everything weighs there? Enlighten us!

The 'tight spot' refers to going up the hill and just catching the next lower gear before the truck stalled. It would mean rolling back down again to try the jump up with that weight on.

Man what a sound!! and bet it sounds better in real life too. I remember riding in a Mack Super-fine E9 when I was around 13 or 14, I will never forgot the thumping sound!! It was also pulling 3 stock crates up in FNQ, Mt surprise station I think. This is the stuff wannabe truckie's dreams are made of 🚛🚛👍👍
