Cutting Wastescape Battlemage is a bad recommendation. The deck has very little interaction and if you double kick it, AND copy it with Ulalek, you can naturalize two things and bounce two things for 7 mana. That's pretty good

A card that is good IF conditions are met is worse than a card that is good WHEN you draw it.

@@CommanderMechanic you just described basically every piece of removal ever. Cutting interaction because it may not have any targets at the time you draw it is such a bad take

That's not the lore of Ulalek at all. If you read the insert that comes with the deck (that's also on Ulalek's wiki) "Ulalek is what happens when two Eldrazi titans dip into a plane at the same location from the Blind Eternities. An amalgamation of Ulamog and Kozilek lineages, Ulalek's presence amplifies both the innate tendencies of Ulamog spawn to warp physical properties and Kozilek spawn to warp reality.[2] Its influence on a plane is constantly shifting as if the substance of its being is constantly in flux. Ulalek has only ever appeared once, on a plane that has long since been reduced to a drained husk and whose name has faded from memory.[1] Since then, it is unknown if Ulalek as a being still exists, or if it came apart once the aspects of Ulamog and Kozilek that made it up withdrew back into the Blind Eternities."

Ugin's eye is a bit expensive but should it be your next buy if you want to invest a bit more in deck? What about conduit of ruin or the new 4CMC eldrazi mytocist ramp creature, nulldrifter? Not as expensive and can be copied, have great synergi with the rest of stuff. Thoughts on these?
@CommanderMechanic
@CommanderMechanic Күн бұрын
Mytocist isn’t where I’d prefer it on the curve it’s pushing right at the cut off of where I’d include ramp. Eye of Ugin and Ugin’s Labyrinth are both FINE inclusions but far from necessary - they’d be like adding Ancient Tomb into your deck. And Nulldrifter is a good include for sure.
@Skyfysh
@Skyfysh Күн бұрын
I’ve got some serious mileage with Kozilek, the Great Distortion. I can guarantee the value Eye of Ugin provides to an Eldrazi deck. That said, it’s way too expensive currently. I’d suggest proxying it until it either comes down in price, or gets reprinted.

Where are you getting your lore from, it's completely false. Ulalek happened when Ulamog and Kozilek breached a plane at the same exact place and time and it fused their avatars. It says so in the lore page that the deck comes with.

Could you do a video where you explain stack combo's that utilize Ulalek, reflections of littjara and echoes of eternity? I'm trying to understand the insane copying and looping that its alows to do but its melting my brain. Can this work?: On field: ulalek, reflections of littjara and 3 echoes of eternity eldrazi creature spell littjara trigger to copy creature spell ulalek trigger (pay 2 colorless) echoes #1 copy ulalek echoes #1 copy creature spell echoes #2 copy echoes #1 spell cast trigger echoes #3 copy echoes #1 spell cast trigger echoes #2 copy ulalek echoes #2 copy creature spell echoes #1 copy echoes #2 spell cast trigger echoes #3 copy echoes #2 spell cast trigger echoes #3 copy ulalek echoes #3 copy creature spell echoes #1 copy echoes #3 spell cast trigger echoes #2 copy echoes #3 spell cast trigger And am I allowed full control over where to place all these simultanious effects going off, so as to make the stack more valueable? to get something like this: eldrazi creature spell littjara trigger to copy creature spell ulalek trigger (pay 2 colorless) echoes #1 copy creature spell echoes #2 copy echoes #1 spell cast trigger echoes #3 copy echoes #1 spell cast trigger echoes #1 copy ulalek echoes #2 copy creature spell echoes #1 copy echoes #2 spell cast trigger echoes #3 copy echoes #2 spell cast trigger echoes #2 copy ulalek echoes #3 copy creature spell echoes #1 copy echoes #3 spell cast trigger echoes #2 copy echoes #3 spell cast trigger echoes #3 copy ulalek This is one run without even resolving an echoes copy of ulalek to double everything, thats what makes me super confused. How would the stack continue to look like once an echo copy of ulalek gets payed and resolved, and so on. Would love a video about it from someone who is experienced, I just started mtg 2 weeks ago and trying my best to fully grasp it so I don't make illegal or suboptimal plays. My brain hurts, But I love it 😅

There are some nuances that are missed - for instance the Echoes trigger doubler is not itself a trigger, it's a static ability. Meaning as soon as Ulalek's trigger goes on the stack so do all the copies. All the copies need to be paid for individually to prevent infinite stacks like what you've implied in your example!
@CrapsGoodxD
@CrapsGoodxD Күн бұрын
@@CommanderMechanic every echoes resolution of ulalek needs to be paid you mean? And if the first line is static the second is surely a trigger, which can be copied? and also when a copied ulalek resolves does it not copy this other ulalek trigger, since it sees it as another instance of a trigger and not himself? Can multiple echoes of eternity also not double the copying of a spell cast trigger (second effect) from the other copy of echoes of eternity as implied above (since it also changes the outcome of another noncolered permanent, which should be the other copies of echoes)
@CrapsGoodxD

making it still very loopable, if not infinite if there would be infite mana from I guess basalt monolith + forsaken monument
@CommanderMechanic
@CommanderMechanic Күн бұрын
You'll need to pay for each trigger, but if you can find a way to do that then yes it's loopable. The copied Ulalek triggers are the naked trigger, not the paid versions. And yes the second ability on Echoes is triggered and can be copied!

the problem with using the finale as a wincon is a lot of people run the one ring &/or teferi's protection & a lot of the time a player can survive or just straight up has protection from everything, the jace/thassa/lab man is more of a sure win & wins through protection
@CommanderMechanic

I think "a lot of the time" is bias based on you getting blown out once or twice. Might be best to do something like save interaction for those moments as you ARE a blue deck.
