If you haven't used the "Save on internal storage" option, and ignored the message "Unsaved data! Discard?" when closing the software, clearing the plot, or loading other data, I'm afraid there isn't a way to recover the data. Fingers crossed, you will manage to reproduce it easily.

Additionally, you can apply a stimulus signal within the device's capabilities and ranges. Please note that the Sensit Wearable is not licensed for use as a medical device, so it should be used strictly for R&D purposes.

Dear Edmondo, Great to hear you are excited as well about the Sensit Wearable. We certainly are. The Sensit Wearable is based on the EmStat Pico and thus works with MethodSCRIPT (see this video: www.palmsens.com/knowledgebase-article/sensit-wearable-how-to-run-automatic-measurements/). This means you can transfer most of this application note to the Sensit Wearable: www.palmsens.com/knowledgebase-article/psan-espico-characterization-of-field-effect-transistors/ What do you exactly mean by real time measurements? Do you want the data to be sent to for example a laptop or smartphone while it is running? That is possible.

Could you elaborate more on potentiostat selection for corrosion test? Is it the best to use Emstat4s HR? I believe Palmsens4 has max current of 20mA
@PalmSens
@PalmSens 2 ай бұрын
The PalmSens4 offers superior noise suppression and better performance for very low current measurement compared to the EmStat4. It also provides a higher voltage range (+/-10V versus +/-6V of polarization) and higher EIS frequency (1 MHz versus 200 kHz). On the other hand, the main advantages of EmStat4 are the faster data acquisition, compatibility with MethodSCRIPT for software customization, and higher current capability (+/-200 mA versus +/-30 mA). Furthermore, the EmStat4 is available in two hardware versions: LR and HR, with variations in specifications. The LR means Low Range, tailored for low-current and low-voltage, while the HR means High Range, with higher current and higher voltage ranges. Additionally, the EmStat4 comes in three different models with varying peripherals: • EmStat4S (USB-only), • EmStat4R (available with LR hardware only, includes battery, Bluetooth, and removable front for regular cell cable or SPE connector), • EmStat4X (with battery, Bluetooth, auxiliary port, iR-compensation, and a small display). Thank you very much to PalmSens for the Video. I am using EmStat4R, If it shows a warning (for PalmSens4) while performing impedance at less than 1Hz what should I do the things. Also, the instrument won't accept more than 200KHz. This video also shows the same warning in the impedance setting parameter as I trying to mention. It would be great if I got a response. Thanks in advance
@PalmSens
@PalmSens 2 ай бұрын
Dear @ushaforme, I suppose you are talking about the warning 't Max equilibration is lower than longest sine period'. The impedance measurement requires a stationary state. This means that before the actual measurement starts, the sine wave is applied during ‘t Max equilibration’ only to reach the stationary state. The maximum number of equilibration sine waves is however 5. The minimum number of equilibration sines is set to 1, but for very low frequencies, this time is limited by ‘t Max equilibration’. The maximum time to wait for a stationary state is determined by the value of this parameter. A reasonable value might be 5 seconds. In this case, this parameter is only relevant when the lowest frequency is less than 1/ 5 s or 0.2 Hz. Increasing this parameter can be beneficial when measuring unstable or noisy samples at low frequencies, although it will extend the overall measurement time.

Sure, you can find this information on the instrument / software manual, next to the Section ' Measurements'. Here follows the information for your convenience: 2-electrode cell connection For a 2-electrode setup, combine the counter and reference electrode leads. The counter electrode plug of PalmSens cables is stackable, allowing for convenient combination. Subsequently, connect the working electrode lead to one electrode and the combined counter and reference electrode leads to the other. In models with a Sense lead, combine it with the working electrode, utilizing its stackable feature similar to the CE lead.

@PalmSens
@PalmSens 4 ай бұрын
Sure. Charging-Discharging is usually done with constant currents and the voltage is measured. In this situation a charge or current cut-off doesn't make sense, as you have set these before the measurement. The voltage cut-off is demonstrated at 4:18. If you want to charge-discharge potentiostatically you can use the Mixed Mode or MultiStep Amperometry to do that. The cut-off currents are, like the cut-off voltages shown in the video, hidden behind the "..."-button.

Dear Akash, The problem you are describing could be a known issue that has been resolved in our current release of PSTrace (5.10). You can dowload it here: www.palmsens.com/software/ps-trace/? Yes, all our potentiostats work with a three electrode setup. We use the classic electrochemical setup. During potential control, the potential control between the WE and RE is controlled. The current flows between WE and CE. I understand that sometimes in battery science the feedback loop is only between the WE and CE, while the RE is used to measure the potentials. That is not how we currently do it. If you are facing issues, feel free to contact us under [email protected] or contact your local representative: www.palmsens.com/distribution/?

is there any tool in the software to reduce the noise, ? In case of GCD data , even If a single point is not regular place, then post analysis is very difficult by some code ,, because this kind of technique requires the multiple scan like 500 , 1K ... so manual analysis is not feasible..
@PalmSens
@PalmSens 8 ай бұрын
Yes, there are multiple ways to reduce noise. The best ways to reduce noise is to avoid measuring it. A Faraday cage connected to the potentiostats GND (green plug) does a great job there. You can also increase the interval time, so more datapoints get averaged, so surpress the measures noise. You can also set the level of smoothing in the "Levels" or "Peaks" tab in the method editor. Be careful, because a high level of smoothing can also smooth away actual features. If you are struggling with big amounts of data, you can also consider to write a specific piece of software for your application. We provide various tools to write your own code: www.palmsens.com/writing-code-for-our-hardware/?

is it required to save the paramenter file for the indivisiual scan of multiple scan in a single file?
@PalmSens
@PalmSens 8 ай бұрын
Dear Akash, It isn't required to make a special psmethod file at all. The parameters of your measurements, no matter of multiple scan measurements like CV or single scan techniques like SWV, are saved in your pssession file. If you want you can save the measurement parameters in a separate psmehtod file. Usually, that would be a single psmethod file, because the parameters don't change throughg out the measurement.

Is it required to save the method file for indivisiual measurement ?
@PalmSens
@PalmSens 8 ай бұрын
Dear Akash, No, it isn't required. Method files are used to only save the parameters for setting up your measurement. This is helpful when you often repeat the same measurement or only want to share the method with a colleague and not your actual measurement data. As shown in the first half of this video, the pssession file contains the parameters for each measurement anyway, so just saving the pssession file will suffice and you don't need a separate psmethod file.

your videos are so helpful and would like to know is there any option for calculating capacitive current/integration of capacitive area calculation from a CV using PS trace or any alternative.
@PalmSens
@PalmSens 9 ай бұрын
Dear Muhsinali, That is not an easy question. Digital potentiostats work in discrete potential steps, which makes their ramps always a staircase if you zoom in sufficiently. This way of measuring has an in-built supression of capacitive current or other very fast processes. The shorter the interval time, the closer the measured capacitive current will be to the real current. The whole effect is well documented by brands that have a true-linear module, to demonstrate their advantages. This is why CV isn't a great method to measure capacitive charging currents. You can use a potential step method. You can use MultiStep Amperometry or Fast Amperometry, but unfortunately there is a short overhead time, nefore the step, so for a fast capacitor this could have some impact. We are working on improving this. We recommend Method, if you have an EmStat4 or EmStat Pico. This way you can perform the whole method on the board of the potentiostat, without any overhead time.

Dear Dalalalhilfi87, I assume you meant the specific capacity of your battery, because for capacitance the mass of the electrode material isn't relevant. I'm afraid electrochemistry isn't suitable for determining the unknown mass, except you know already the specific capacity. Thank you for this interesting video, I would like to know if the screen-printed electrode is considered as a battery ? Meaning can I chose the material I want to work with for the working or the counter electrode ? and how is the electrolyte added ?

A Screen-Printed electrode is not a battery. Yes, you can choose the material you would like to work with. Different producers offer different materials. A selection can be found in our catalog: www.palmsens.com/products/sensors/screen-printed-electrodes/ The electrodes can be immersed in the electrodes or a drop of electrolyte is applied to the electrode. You can find multiple demonstrations on our KZbin channel, for example kzbin.info/www/bejne/a17VnJKLlsdknqc
